A Quiet Hunt [Closed]

Burningpaw was excited. It would be her second official training hunt with Sunflower. After doing a dutiful morning of chores around the camp - with not even any complaints! - Burningpaw was awaiting her mentor at the entrance of the camp. Anxiety rang in her ears. What if she failed? What if she didn't do well, and disappointed Sunflower? Would he tell Tinystar that she didn't have any potential as a warrior? StarClan, she would just die if Sunflower and Tinystar thought that!

Making his way over to Burningpaw, Sunflower gave the younger she-cat a curt dip of his head. "Let's g-go," the feeble voiced tom mewed and with that, headed out of the camp entrance and into the wooded territory. "Today w-we'll hunt," he added, looking in the direction of Burningpaw. Hopefully, they'd have a successful hunt, seeing as though the clan needed every bit of food that they could get.

Burningpaw followed her nervous mentor out into the forest. She loved hunting!

Once they reached the forest, Burningpaw raced up a tree, attempting to be as quiet as possible. Soon, the prey smelled of bird. Looking around, Burningpaw spotted the sparrow. Crouching, Burningpaw slowly inched from branch to branch, until she could leap and pounce on the bird...

Watching as his apprentice raced up a tree, Sunflower decided to stay on ground level, seeing as though he seemed to have better luck when he knew where his paws would land. Soon enough, the abnormally tall and lengthy tom caught the scent of prey.

Crouching down as far as his abnormally twig-like legs would let him go, he stalked forward and soon enough, spotted a squirrel nibbling on its' breakfast. Stalking forward, Sunflower waited a few moments, his haunches wiggling back and forth in calibration. Just a few more moments...

Pouncing forward, the tom's big paws landed squarely onto the squirrel's shoulders. With a swift bite to the neck before it could let out a squeal, he'd successfully caught a piece of prey. 'Not a bad way to start a hunt,' he thought to himself.

Sunflower attempted to catch a squirrel and was successful. -3 SP
