Mosskit's Apprentice Ceremony

Sitting in front of the group of ShadowClan cats in which he'd gathered together, Daisyflame took a deep breath. This was all so weird... Them being among the Tribe cats, not knowing where Scorchstar was... If he was to be honest, he was lost, very lost. Of course, he was doing his best to be a leader to the small group of remaining clanmates, but he'd never been trained for such a thing. Everything had happened so suddenly and while he tried to stay strong and level headed, all he wished for was to see Scorchstar walk through the entrance of the cave. Maybe then, he'd be a little more at peace.

But alas, Scorchstar and the rest of the clan were still missing, and here they were, living among the Tribe cats for who knew how long.

Around the edge of the group of ShadowClanners, the curious eyes of strangers pried at their pelts, desperately wishing to know what was going on and what the clan cats were doing. He would've loved to explain, but right now, he had to focus on the task at hand. Scanning his amber gaze among his friends and clanmates, he gave them a nod.

"While the timing is odd and things aren't exactly the same as they were back home, we gather here tonight to give a kit their apprentice name. Mosskit, please step forward," he mewed with a soft smile, looking to the tom, who had been one of the only lucky kits of ShadowClan to make it this far. "You have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day forward, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Mosspaw. I will be your mentor and look forward to training you in the ways of the warrior code, however that may look," the tom finished and gave the newly named Mosspaw a nod. Leaning forward, he touched noses with the young tom, a smile on his muzzle. Of course he was a bit worried as far as training would go, but he supposed that they'd figure that out later.

Mosspaw hung back. An apprentice? Daisyflames apprentice? He looked around at all the eyes watching him and padded forward. He picked up his gait a little bit but one question was burning in his mind. ”D-Daisyflame? Do rouges have apprentice ceremony’s? And why are they so bad?”

Perking his ears at Mosspaw's question, it was a sudden and somewhat odd question, but he supposed that all young cats were naturally curious about one thing or another.

"I don't believe they do," he began, thinking about the next part of the question. "They're not bad, but just... different, per say," the warrior mewed with a smile. Where in StarClan's name had such a question even come from?

“Well weren’t we rouges once, right?” He tilted his head. “So why do we have to defend our borders so hard if we all get swept away like little fishies?” He huffed and dragged a paw along the rocky ground.

Rogues once? He assumed that was the truth way back when the clans were first being formed, but that was too many moons ago to count. "We defend our borders so that we have a sense of purpose and something worth fighting for. If we didn't have borders, then why even have separate clans? Our clans our what defines us, as cats and warriors," he mewed, a sense of pride swelling within him as he spoke. In a sense, they should all be thankful to be who they are; mighty cats of the forest.
