Morning Hunt In The Rivers [Closed]

Wolfsong stood up and looked around in the warriors den, he were on a patrol with Mottledspark and his apprentice, Sootpaw. He looked out of the den, the sun had barely started going up. He heard a few birds outside and yawned before he slowly padded up to Mottledspark and nudged the young warrior on the shoulder "Time to get up, we're on a hunting patrol" he meowed quietly, once he were sure that Mottledspark had hear him he padded out of the den and made is way over to the apprentice den to get Sootpaw.

He stuck his head inside and looked around, when he saw the young toms grey tabby fur he quietly made his way over and nudged him o the shouled and meowed with a low tone "It's time for our hunting patrol, Mottledspark is coming to, he's your friend right?". When Sootpaw were awake, Wolfsong made his way out of the den and padded over to the camp exit.

Sootpaws head popped up drowsily. “Hmm?” He plucked a few bits of his nest off of him then walked out. “A hunting patrol!” He exclaimed to himself. He hoped the thing wouldn’t happen last time. The time when he was with Mottledspark- he had collapsed and he lost control of his body and didn’t know what happened from that point untill he “woke up”.  He dashed over to Wolfsong. “Morning Wolfsong! Hi Mottledspark!” He greeted them eagerly.

Mottledspark's sleep was restless, and when a fellow warrior's gentle nudging woke him he felt as though he'd barely slept. The dark tortoiseshell warrior blinked open his pale hazel eyes to see Wolfsong. "Time to get up, we're on a hunting patrol," the tom had said, and Mottledspark nodded, rolling to his paws. He arched his back, stretching himself as tall as he could, and mid-yawn he remembered that he was on patrol with not just Wolfsong but his apprentice, too - Mottledspark's best friend, Sootpaw.

Except, things had been complicated since Sootpaw had recovered from his strange fit. Maybe Flurryshine was just angry and afraid at the time, but she had clearly told Mottledspark to stay away from her son. She had even swatted at him. Even if grief had been clouding her judgement, Mottledspark's own grief took it to heart. Would Sootpaw have suffered if they hadn't gone out into the forest together? Had he somehow caused Sootpaw's episode? The thoughts had been swimming in his head for days, and so Mottledspark had tried to keep busy and, although it broke his heart, he had tried to stay away from Sootpaw.

However, nothing Flurryshine had said could go against the word of the leadership, and Mottledspark had been assigned to this patrol with Sootpaw. To not go would be to undermine Scorchclaw and Jaystar, and even she couldn't demand that of him. The tortoiseshell warrior exited the den and joined Wolfsong near the camp entrance, and he gave his Clanmate a polite dip of his head. Then, Sootpaw padded up, and Mottledspark felt a flood of emotions: relief, fear, love, anxiety, pride... "Hi, Sootpaw," Mottledspark replied, glancing at his feet. "I'm glad you're well enough to be on patrols again." Then he looked back to Wolfsong, asking, "Shall we head out, then?"

Wolfsong smiled slightly at the two young cats and nodded "Yep, let's go." he padded out of camp and moved with a quick pace towards the place that he had decided were best for hunting today. He glance at Mottledspark and Sootpaw to make sure they could keep up with him, he then looked around a little and yawned quietly. Wolfsong looked at Sootpaw with a smile "You remember our training right?" he asked the tom.

Once they reached the hunting grounds he looked around "Well then, let's hunt and Sootpaw, just ask me if you need help with anything, you to Motteldspark if you need any help or advice." he told them, he then tasted the air and stalked of after the scent of a bird. Once he saw it he slowed down and crept towards the pigeon. Just a few steps behind the bird he stopped and then threw himself forward at it, he dug his claws into the side of the bird and bit down onto it's neck until it stopped moving. He then buried it so nothing would steal it while he hunted.

Sootpaw smiles at Mottledspark. “I’m fine!” He said bounding excitedly. “He purred. He bounded into the forest and slowed down. He sniffed. Ah! A squirrel. A hard catch... He waited for the right moment, and pounced!

Nope nvm. Didn’t work.))

Mottledspark smiled gladly at Sootpaw, glad to have the apprentice by his side again, though in the back of his mind all he could think of was how his friend had been sick not so many days before. Wolfsong gave the instruction to head out, bringing Mottledspark back to the present. He nodded at his companions and stepped in to follow them out of camp and onto their route for the hunting patrol. The group set out confidently, and as Mottledspark watched Sootpaw move it certainly seemed like his friend was doing better.

The apprentice turned off to go hunt something, and at the same moment Mottledspark heard a light scratching sound from nearby. The dark warrior wandered a short distance to discover a vole digging away at the frozen earth, likely unearthing some seeds. He crouched, stalked forward, and hoped for the best as he sprang. However, Mottledspark wasn't as skilled at hunting on land as in the water, and his bulky weight crushed a tuft of grasses noisily. The vole instantly darted away and he spat to himself before continuing to search the underbrush. Rats. I hope Sootpaw didn't see that.

OOC: Saint once you have writen your post you press 'Preview' and then you scroll down a little and there's a box titled 'Dices roll' and then you choose hunting dice and then just click 'Send' and then you can go to here and you can see if you caught the prey or not, if you roll a 10 a predator of your choice (You can find the predatores at the bottom of the page) will apper. Hope you understand what I mean!

Wolfsong looked around and heard a rustling in the reeds next to the river. He grinned and stalked towards it at a slow pace. He stopped and looked at the water vole in between the reeds, he then slowly creept forward not making a sound. He leapt forward at the vole and dog his teeth into the voles next and bit down until the little rodent stopped moving. He turned around and padded over to were he had buried his previous catch.

Once he had buried the vole he padded over to the riverbank, maybe if he were lucky the ice wasn't that thick and he would be able to claw through the ice and try catching a fish or two, after all they were his favourite. He sat down by the edge of the river and put a paw on the ice and pressed down, it didn't seem to thick so why not give it a try he though and unsheated his claws.

Sootpaw shook his head. Today was not his lucky day. He caught a whiff of a blue jay. He whipped around silently and crawled twoards it. And then... He pounced!

He shook his head and sulked sadly. Did the others see that? The bird has seen him moving and he was a complete mousebrain!
