Stagkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Swiftstep hopped up onto the Tallrock with a proud twinkle in his amber eyes. A lucky kit was going to be apprenticed today! They will begin their training to soon become an amazing warrior. The brown tom's face morphed to a serious one before he continued. He couldn't completely vanish his excitement. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather underneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting!" Swiftstep called with an authoritative tone.

Stagkit, an extremely large 6 moon kit, bumbled out. He had groomed himself for this occasion as he had watched the other queens doing to their kits. As his mother and father was dead, all he had was himself. The handsome tom stepped forward, head high.

The deputy gazed down at the large tom-kit before continuing, "We all gather here today to make one of our kits an apprentice. Stagkit, please step forward." Once the young male did, the deputy nodded approvingly with a smile and then began to speak again, "Stagkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Stagpaw. Smokepelt will be your mentor. He recently got a new apprentice but i'm certain he can handle training another. I know he will pass down everything he knows on to you."

Barleytuft had padded up to listen to the summons; when he saw the sturdy and sleek young kit strut up towards the front, the warrior immediately found himself purring as he settled in to watch the apprentice ceremony. Another lucky young kit was beginning their journey towards becoming a warrior. Barleytuft remembered his feelings fondly and could see Stagkit waiting proudly for his new name and mentor. When given those things, Barleytuft nodded with approval - Smokepelt was a good Clanmate and warrior - and began to chant Stagpaw's name with the rest of the Clan as was tradition.

Stagpaw raised his head, proud as the clan changed his name. After a few seconds, Stagpaw looked around for his mentor. It was the same tom that had taught him about chaos.

Hearing his name called, Smokepelt heaved himself up from where he was sitting and slowly but surely made his way over to his new apprentice. Now he had three to train, which seemed like a lot, but he supposed he'd manage, somehow... "We'll start training tomorrow," the tall, dark grey and white tom mewed blandly as he touched noses with the younger tom, just like he did with every other cat.

Stagpaw eyed his new mentor. He seemed uninterested. "Don't worry old man, I'll interest you one day." he said with a soft smirk and a gleam in his eye. Without further to do, he spun around and padded to the apprentice den to figure out where he would sleep.
