Beekit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Willow Branch for a clan meeting!" Scorchclaw's powerful call resounded throughout the camp. The fluffy deputy stood within the clutches of the ancient willow, his pale gaze glimmering as he looked upon the cats that were milling down below.

OOC: short, no time;;

Beekit shot out like a leave in the wind, nimbly dodging underfoot to reach the foot of the willow tree, all bright eyed and bushy tailed. She didn't even give Minnowslip a chance to catch up. She was ready, so ready.

Lightstep and Mottledspark had been sharing tongues at the edge of camp when Scorchclaw's call rang out. Immediately the two moved ahead to join the gathering Clan, only to see a flash of fluffy kitten fur shoot past them towards the willow branch. Lightstep chuckled at the she-kit's excitement and murmured to his friend, "Her mentor's going to have their paws full with her, I think."

Mottledspark chuckled lightly and said determinedly, "I'd keep her in line." However, the warmth in his eyes made it clear that he was just as excited for the kit to receive her apprentice name as she probably was.

At Scorchclaw's call to the clan, the dilute calico's ears twitched and he immediately redirected himself to the center of camp. As he padded towards a spot among the rest of the gathered clan cats, Sparkpaw's eye caught a glimpse of a clearly enthusiastic Beekit. Immediately a smile lit up his maw. Their escapade had been not long before and he had enjoyed spending time outside camp with her. If this was her ceremony, they'd be able to go out more and not get in trouble!

While his paws itched to trot towards his younger friend, as they already had started doing, Sparkpaw settled down next to the pair of Lightstep and Mottlespark. He caught there conversation and chimed in, "I think she's going to be a great apprentice!" He briefly glanced at them before turning his attention back to the impending ceremony.

Beekit was a blur of calico fur among the warriors and apprentices. Not surprisingly, she seemed excited for the day of her ceremony. The fluffy deputy himself was in a good mood that morning, and the corners of his maw twitched upwards at the sight. It was time to begin. "Beekit, step forward." He stated solemnly. "You have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day onward, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Beepaw. Your mentor will be Robinpatch." He would leave this energetic one in the young warrior's paws.

As the ceremony drew to a close, Scorchclaw leaped off the Willow Branch.

Robinpatch felt his fur tingle nervously, paw pads sweating slightly. He was to mentor this furry ball of endless energy? Oh Starclan, Watch over him please. The calico tom-cat reluctantly got up and walked over to Beepaw. He gave her an awkward smirk-grin hybrid and bent down to touch his nose to hers. He hoped these next moons would rush by but knowing his luck, they'll be painfully slow.
