A kit in need (closed?)

Padding into the dimly lit camp with the unconscious kit between his jaws, Smokepelt made his way over to the Medicine Cat's den. Entering the odd smelling area, the large warrior's nose wrinkled up as he gently placed the kit down by his white paws. "Hello?" he mewed, looking around and praying that the clan's substitute medicine cat was around so he could help the kit, seeing as though the little bundle of fur wasn't looking so good.

Images swam in the kit's head, memories of a warm place. Some sort of sound broke into his dreams. The voice of a cat? His mind struggled to find something to attach to, fighting to swim upwards to a semi-conscious state.

Not long after Smokepelt's call, the substitute medicine cat hurried over and observed the kit's current state. "I found him on the side of the Thunderpath. He was fine and then just passed out," the stoic voiced warrior mewed, watching as the medicine cat went deeper into the den to grab some herbs.

Setting the leaves down, the she-cat began to lick the kit in hopes of warming it up, and gently prying it's mouth open, she brushed the herbs into it's jaws. "Chew these," she mewed softly, like a mother talking to it's own kit. Sitting up, the cat looked to Smokepelt and after a few moments of chatting amongst themselves, the tall warrior gave a nod and laid down next to the kit as instructed. Not saying a word, the grey and white tom closed his eyes. Maybe he'd be able to take a quick nap, seeing as though he'd been doing warrior duties non-stop lately.

The kit tried to splutter as someone shoved some leaves down his throat. Uurgh. He cracked open his eyes to glare at whoever would do such a thing, only to feel a rough tongue lapping him to warmth. Purring in surprise, he blinked and looked up to see a she-cat above him. For a moment, his mind shoved the hazy image of a darker-coloured pelt in front of his eyes, and a weird, milky smell he could remember better. M-mum? He was feeling a lot warmer now, but pretty confused, since this cat didn't smell at all like his mother and-
Wait, where was his bush? He looked up frantically, trying to see the familiar leaves covering him. There was only this weird dim place, with its strange smells. Feeling panic starting to set in, he tried to wobble to his paws, only to have them collapse underneath him, and then to make matters worse, the tom he'd seen before laid down next to him, trapping him with his annoying warmth. Not that he would have been able to complain, since his teeth were chattering so hard he probably wouldn't have been able to make a noise if he'd wanted to, except for a pathetic mew that somehow escaped his maw.

Staying still, Smokepelt felt as the kit stirred awake, its teeth chattering. Placing his tail around the kit, he pulled the bundle of cold fur tighter against his side and let out a sigh as he relaxed, his gaze facing towards the entrance of the den. "Just calm down, you're safe here," he mewed softly, though he knew the kit might not have even been able to understand him.

The kit squirmed slightly in the big tom's grip, only giving a little resistance as the other wrapped his tail around him. He didn't know where his bush had gone, who had taken it, or why this place smelled so bad, but he did know he was freezing, and this cat was warm. As his cold skin began to heat up, he felt his hunger and thirst rise up again. Letting out a pathetic mew, he buried his nose in the other cat's fur, trying to find something to eat.

Noticing the kit's hunger beginning to show, Smokepelt flinched as its small claws kneaded his soft belly, clearly looking for something to eat. "You seem to be doing better now," the husky voiced tom mumbled to himself, looking down to the kit. "I guess I'll take you to a Queen so she can care for you until you become an apprentice," Smokepelt added. As a tom, he was in no position to care for this orphan kit on his own and luckily for him, most Queens were willing to take in an orphan kit if they were already nursing. But before he gave away the kit to be cared for... something was missing, though he couldn't put a paw on it.

Flicking his ears and thinking about what he believed was absent for a few moments, it suddenly hit him. This kit needed a name.

Continuing to look at the kit, the large warrior mused himself with different name possibilities until he decided on one. "Your name will be Murkkit," he began stoically, his face emotionless, per usual. "Because you were found in the murky twilight of darkness," Smokepelt finished, hoping he'd chosen a satisfactory name for the kit. It seemed a bit grim, but it only made sense, seeing as though the clans were living in a looming, gloomy darkness.

"Now that we've got that squared away..." he muttered and stood up. Leaning down, he picked up the small kit by the scruff and made his way out of the Medicine Den and towards the Nursery.

OOC: we don't need to rp out the next topic, we'll just say it happened :)

OOC: Sure thing! *rubs hands* Now I guess I get to make a topic where he runs around camp wreaking havoc? ;)
