Sleekkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Taking a deep breath, Scorchclaw called in an authoritative tone, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the willow branch for a clan meeting!" Although it seemed that just yesterday Aspenstrike had been training as his apprentice, the younger tom now had kits of his own. Today, one of them would be leaving the nursery.

The ginger she cat with brown patches and dark black marking scampered from the nursery. Her fur sleek and clean ready for the ceremony at hand. She stopped licking the fur done just briefly on her back white legs before she moved and sat down her vibrant blue eyes looking up to the deputy eager to become and apprentice.

Before long, all who fulfilled the criteria had gathered by the great willow tree. Gazing down from his perch in its branches, Scorchclaw's green eyes narrowed momentarily. "Sleekkit, step forward." When the young she-cat had done so, he continued, "Sleekkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day onward until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Sleekpaw." There was a brief pause. "I will be your mentor."

Nimbly leaping off the Willow Branch, Scorchclaw approached the newly-named apprentice. Gently, he touched his nose to hers. "Go get settled in. Training only begins tomorrow." Seeing as it was currently morning, she had a whole day to get used to her new rank.

Sleekpaw blinked and her bright blue eyes widened as she heard her mentor was the deputy himself. Hearing that she touched noses with him and smiled"alright I can't wait to start"she mewed.
