Lightkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Mistyrain leaped up to the Tallbranch, once again to address SkyClan. Yet another kit was ready to be apprenticed - today, it would be Lightkit. "Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather beneath the Tallbranch for a Clan meeting!"

Lightkit pricked her ears. What was the Clan meeting about? Then she remembered that she had turned six moons - old enough to be apprenticed. Oh! Duh! She wondered how she didn't think of that earlier. Lightkit padded toward Tallbranch, unsure whether to feel excited or not, as she sat down and gazed up at Mistyrain, awaiting the announcement of her temporary new name and mentor.

Spotting the kit in question, Mistyrain continued. "Lightkit, please step forward." She paused, giving Lightkit a moment to do so. "Lightkit, you have reached the age of 6 moons and it is time for you to become an apprentice." She scanned the cats in the clearing, her eyes settling on Acornfall. "From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Lightpaw. Your mentor will be Acornfall, and I know that she will do her best to pass on to you all that she has learned." Having concluded her part in the ceremony, she joined her Clanmates in congratulating the newly-named apprentice.
