Frostpaw’s Warrior Ceremony

The leader climbed the branch with lowered head and tired eyes. He glanced at the clan for few seconds wondering what it would become once Lichenmask decides to say the truth. He had his neck in his paws. He didn’t mind losing his position but to lose his clan... and to lose his mate. He was the only one who knew why Goldeneye was dissapeared and if he isn’t the leader when she comes back.. their clanmate would likely chase her off with their kits. He couldn’t allow that. The tom had to keep being the leader of Riverclan... at least for a little while. If he showed doubt now... his clanmates would start to doubt before that prophetic cat could say a word. As always, Jaystar had to pretend to be that strong leader, even in his weakness and despair. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather beneath the willow branch for a clan meeting!" He yowled straightening his body and raising his feathery tail.

Frostpaw padded out of the apprentices' den. Her blue eyes looking up at the leader curiously. What was this about? The white she-cat padded over to the meeting area and sat down.

"Frostpaw... your mentor, Lakewhisper has confirmed that you are ready to undertake your warrior ceremony. If you believe this to be true, step forward now for it to begin." The said to the blue-eyed she-cat who just knew that this was her ceremony. Indeed, she had completed her training according to the white and black tom and she just came back from her Moonstone Journey. Her ancestors had seen her and the leader believed that it was time for her to become part of all the great warriors of Riverclan.

Her warrior ceremony? Of course she was ready! The ginger and white apprentice took a step forward. Her coat wasn't as clean as she wanted it to be but it would have to do. She stood just in front of the branch her body turned somewhat so she could look at the crowd and Jaystar.

The leader puffed up his chest and took a deep breath before speaking up, his tone solemn and serious."I, Jaystar, leader of Riverclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn, Frostpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" He asked, his eyes fixed on the young cat.

She would die for her clan. She would uphold the code at all costs. The code is what held them all together as a clan so the code is certainly what she would follow. She would make the clans great again by following the code. "I do." She said in response. Of course she would. She could feel a fire burning in her chest.

The tom purred and flicked his tail for the new warrior. "Then, by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. From this day forth, you will be known to all as Frostpuddle. Congrats, young one. Tonight, as per tradition says, you will hold a silent vigil, while the rest of the clan sleeps under your guard." He mewed with happiness as the crowd started to say the she-cat's new name.

Jaystar dismissed the meeting and jumped off the branch. He joined the celebration for a few minutes before going back to his den. It was good to see his clan growing... maybe in this way they would be safe from Shade... but he wasn't sure about another danger that was within his clan...
