Frostpaw's Warrior Ceremony

"ShadowClan! Gather in the shadow of the Jaggedrock!"

Despite all of the hardship that ShadowClan seemed to have been facing in the last moon or two, life was continuing on. While he would mourn the death of his Clanmates and Rookfire's disappearance, he was expected to be strong for ShadowClan and that...That was something he could do. He would continue his duties, be a rock for his Clanmates to lean on. Death was expected, it would happen. He had come to terms with that long ago but he knew it wasn't so easy for his Clanmates to understand - mostly when it was their loved ones who were taken. ...But at least there were still reasons to celebrate, with yet another apprentice having finished his requirements.

Frostpaw heard Flintstar's call echo through their camp and ventured to find a place, not too muddy, to sit. Every time a meeting had been called for a few sunrises now, the apprentice had cleansed his fur thoroughly. He was to become a warrior soon, it would not be long now. He had done everything, learned everything, and trained meticulously, either with Shira or on his own. He was ready. Though most of the apprentices he knew had long since become warriors, he was just a bit younger than them. He still wasn't perfect, Frostpaw knew that much, but becoming a warrior would allow him to train harder than ever before.

Flintstar sat perched on the edge of the Jaggedrock, silently watching his Clanmates gather around him before he finally lifted his head to speak. "Recent moons has not been kind to us, but we continue to push forward - to look towards what hope we still hold. So, today I bring you together to witness an apprentice gain their warrior name - an event we can all celebrate. Frostpaw, please step forward," he meowed, turning his gaze onto the tom and dipped his head to him. He waited for Frostpaw to step forward and take his new spot before the leader continued on. "I, Flintstar, leader of ShadowClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn. Frostpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Frostpaw, hearing his name, had to take a few steps to actually make it to the front of the crowd. He did so quickly though, fur pristine as he had wished it to be. His face, though normally bored, had an iota of emotion, perhaps joy, or excitement, only the most observant could possibly tell. He stood tall, as tall as he could anyway, and puffed out his long fur. In a neutral tone, Frostpaw said, "I do." For a moment, he thought abot what his warrior name could possibly be. Nothing so aggressive as Frostfang he assumed, but nothing so passive as Frostflower... no, perhaps something in the middle would be best.

Flintstar gave a short nod of his head, unsurprising by the answer - not that he ever doubted anybody to say differently even if they didn't truly feel that way - it was simply tradition at this point. "Then by the powers granted to me, I give you your warrior name. Frostpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Frostgaze. We honor your intelligence and selflessness, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ShadowClan." Flintstar pushed himself to his paws and jumped down, padding up to Frostgaze as he rested his chin on the tom's head. "Congratulations, Frostgaze."
