Clear Mossy Acorns (Closed)

"Are we prepared to venture out into the forest?" Clearpaw inquired after the patrol had been assembled. While Acornfall, and not him, was the one leading the patrol, he just felt like asking was the right thing to do right then. Soon, they would be out in the forest, where freedom and contentment could flow throughout his soul. Out in pure, unrefined nature, everything just felt so right, like the world was at peace. Nothing seemed violent or ugly, just beautiful. Already, he long to smell lush flowers, hear wind in the trees, and see flicking sunlight all around him. Appreciating beauty was food for his soul. The forest was the perfect place to do that. Even though they would be hunting creatures. they still were honoring them, and admiring their beauty. Maybe prey even had their own version of StarClan. Those thoughts comforted him, along with the notion that in a few moments he would be in the middle of what caused him the most peace and happiness. If only every cat in the world was able to discover how amazing peace was, and how it could often come from admiring beauty. If everybody got along well and realized they were surrounded by paradise, the world would be perfect. All other problems would seem so much less significant. Maybe he could help to make others see it his way. Yes, that was needed. Right then, he decided it would be his life's goal to spread the idea of peace and appreciation of nature with everyone and make the world a better place. Starting with this patrol. Looking at Mosspaw, he realized that whatever he said to his sister might seem correct, but unnecessary. Showing her how appreciation for beauty would make everyone feel better would be how he showed her. The best way was through compliments. Sincere and accurate.
"Your eyes are a pretty shade of green than mine. Like the sun shining on grass."

Acornfall smiled. ”I cannot speak for everyone, but I know that I am,” Acornfall replied. It was nice, going on a hunting patrol. The breeze felt nice in her fur, and all her worries and sadness was lifted away for this brief moment. Then, Acornfall remembered the seriousness of this patrol. SkyClan may not have fresh-kill in the pile otherwise, she realized.

Mosspaw quickly trotted towards the patrol, panting, "You can speak for evedryone know because I'm here!" She paused and inhaled deeply to try and regain her breath. Her blacj and white pelt was fluffed out immensely; it would take a while to groom it back down again. Still, Mosspaw was determined to be here.

Once everyone arrived, it only seemed fit that they would head out without any further ado. Clearpaw walked with the rest of the patrol out of camp, feeling the cool soil under his paws and the refreshing breeze in his fur. Life in SkyClan could be so perfect sometimes. Everything seemed so alive, with bright greens every where as far as the eye could see, contrasting the sky the color of robin eggs. At every chirp or rustle. he felt a shiver of delight flow through him. The forest was filled with so much beautiful forms of life. How did anyone fail to notice? Sadly, he realized, even he grew slightly less mesmerized every time. Hopefully there would never be a day where he didn't stop to admire the beauty around him. Scenting the air, he quickly separated the scent of prey from everything else. Squirrel stood out the most. Looking where the scent was coming from, he saw a squirrel in the branch of a nearby tree. Feeling confident enough in his ability to do this sort of thing, he scaled the tree, careful not to let his claws scratch up the beautifully textured bark. Reaching a branch level with the one the squirrel was on, he gently padded out on it, focusing on the gray creature. As always, he took the time to admire it before catching it. Its beautifully curved fluffy tail, how grays mixed with browns so perfectly, its dark eyes. After that, he lowered himself onto his back legs, the jumped. His teeth met the back of the squirrel's neck, killing it in a single bite. Soon his claws met the branch and prevented his fall, allowing his the climb down the tree with ease. "Thank you StarClan for this prey."

Acornfall noticed that they seemed excited to go hunting, so she nodded her head.  ”Okay, let’s go!” she said.  Soon, she scented bird.  Her paws got ready to jump, her claws unsheathed.  She pounced at the bird and snatched it in midair. The she-cat landed on a tree nearby, and scrambled down. That was when she noticed Clearpaw’s catch. ”Well done!” she said.

Mosspaw followed enthusiastically after the two cats, a gentle purr rumbling in her chest as she padded through the territory. Even though she had left camp several times before, she couldn't help but be astonished by the beauty of Skyclan territory. Trotting through their lush forest home always out her at ease. The serene forest of Skyclan would always be a safe haven for her, no matter what.

As they reached their ideal hunting spot, she watched as both her brother and Acornfall made successful catches. The idea of not being as good sent a ripple of fear through her as she dropped into a hunter's crouch and followed another scent. Not catching this would be quite embarrassing for her. Swallowing her doubts as she neared a rabbit, the she-cat leapt forward with her claws unsheathed. Surprisingly, she landed on it, and held it in place as she delivered the final blow. Out of the three of them, she had managed to catch the biggest prey! Pride shone in her eyes as she padded back to the group.

“Wonderful job, both of you,” Clearpaw congratulated. Once again, he scented the air, separating out all of the scents until he found the one he was looking for. A small mouse sat at the base of a bush, seeming very interested in something. He couldn’t help but admire the elegance of its thin tail, the intricacy of its fingers, and how quickly its nose twitched. StarClan blessed cats with the ability to admire all of this, yet most cats didn’t even use it. What a shame. Crouching down low, he slowly and silently padded towards his target, pouncing on it and killing it with a single bite.
