Ashkit’s Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath Jaggedrock for a Clan meeting!" Scorchfang called to all his Clanmates from atop the ceremonial rock.

Ashkit was laying in the nursery when she heard a cat in the camp say: "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath Jaggedrock for a Clan meeting!" She knew this didn't apply to her, but she was to curious to just stay in the nursery. So she walked out the nursery, curious for what would happen. She hoped it had something to do with her becoming an apprentice, because she was just so done with being in the nursery all the time! But she didn't think it had anything to do with her though. We'll see, she thought.

"Ashkit, step forward," Scorchfang meowed, waiting for her to do so before continuing. "You have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. Ashkit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Ashpaw. Patchpelt will be your mentor. I know she will be able to pass down what she has learned to you."

Ashkit was so excited she was finally becoming an apprentice! She tried to seem calm when she walked up to her mentor Liontail, to touch noses with him. while doing so she muttered, so only he could hear: "I'll do the best I can, I will train super hard so I can become the best warrior Shadow Clan has ever had." Now I can finally leave the nursery! she thought. And I get to see Maplepaw and Dewpaw even more! She was so excited!
