A silent conversation (Closed)

Fawnpaw stood awkwardly off to the side, her green eyes watching the apprentices den like a hawk waiting impatiently for Shrikepaw to emerge. Pupils slitted immediately as she saw the top of her den-mates head and she charged towards him, leaping onto his back loosely before jumping off with a squeal. Turning on her paws she brushed against him and jutted her chin towards the camp entrance before turning back to look at him with a tilt of her head, questioning.

As soon as he felt someone jump onto his back the tom twisted to grab the other apprentice unknowing it was Fawnpaw. His teeth almost dug into the apprentice when the scent of the silent apprentice drifted over him. He closed his mouth and let her slide of as she squeal in what he assumed happiness. The tom stood tall as Fawnpaw brushed against him. His heart beating a little fast in his chest. Once she pointed towards the camp entrance he nodded in response. He nudged her towards the entrance and started walking himself. "Don't scare me like that okay?"

Fawnpaw's cheer seemed to die away for a moment before returning to her bright green gaze. Giving him a nod she pressed her nose to his ear apologetically before he pushed her forwards towards the entrance, tail high she dived into the entrance, waiting for the tom on the other side. Once he emerged she tilted her head, trying to ask 'how are you?'.

Shrikepaw's yellow eyes saw the head tilt. He studied her for a moment before realizing. It was hard to read her silence sometimes. "I'm doing okay." hings have been toning down for him a bit. After Gustpuddle arrived and all of that chaos it all seemed to finally be settling down. "Are you doing okay?" He asked keeping the questions to something she could answer with a nod of her head.

Fawnpaw nodded happily as she turned to look at Shrikepaw, her maw puckering just the slightest. The sudden willingness for her to say something was strong, she couldn't resist trying. Every once in a while Fawnpaw would try to say something, anything, but often failed. But today she felt it deep in her chest, taking in a deep breath she squeezed every remnant of her sound out of her. "Oooo-Kuh" It was deep, low, and raspy, leaving Fawnpaw to cough lightly as she recovered from the basic noise she managed to emit. "Oooooh-K-uh!" The way she pronounced the 'k' was light and barely audible, but she was proud of her attempt.

The tom's ears perked up as Fawnpaw made a different noise than the usual. It was hard to understand at first but the second time she said it he realized she was trying to say okay. "It's close. You need to keep working on it." He told her before motioning for her to follow him. "Are you okay with a little hunting?"
