Sloekit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath Jaggedrock for a Clan meeting!" Scorchfang's yowl rang throughout the camp from the highest peak.

Sloekit, compared to his usual composure, was clearly excited as he emerged from the apprentice's den. His blue eyes were wide as he approached Jaggedrock and sat beneath it, looking up at Scorchfang, ears perked and listening attentively.

"Sloekit, step forward," he meowed to the young tom, continuing once he stepped forward. "You have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. Sloekit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Sloepaw. Russetfang will be your mentor. I know she will be able to pass down what she has learned to you."

Sloekit- No, Sloepaw- nodded and stood tall, beaming with clear pride. It was difficult for him to stay still from the pure excitement he was feeling. The young grey tom glanced around just slightly, somewhat hoping to see his parents' reactions but more so looking for his mentor Russetfang. 'I wonder why kind of mentor he will be..'

IC: The white and ginger warrior stepped up and touched her nose to the apprentice's. Her green eyes held a slightly sharp glint but there was a bit of friendliness to them to. "Training will start at dawn. Get some rest so you'll be able to wake up in time. Try not to be late. You'll be one of Shadowclan's greatest once i'm through with you." After that, the she-cat walked back to the warrior's den.

Sloepaw blinked, nodding after hearing his mentor's words. He.. Enjoyed her seeming seriousness, so far. He'd hoped this would help him become a warrior his clan could be proud of. He glanced back to Scorchfang one last time before trotting to his new resting place- the apprentice's den.
