Crowkit's Apprentice Ceremony

The name put him off. He understood why Gustpuddle had chosen to name one of her kits in honor of their late father, but it was unnerving in a similar way to Shrikepaw's looks. Everything reminded him of the departed leader. It was only the issues of rogues and struggles with Windclan that seemed to pull him away from the numbing loss. Rippedstar shook his head as he padded towards the tallbranch. Crowkit was ready to become an apprentice; he could not ignore that. The black and white leader leaped easily up onto the branch and waited for the kits to come out. Although they had moved to the nursery as they grew, they were still allowed to frequent his den. Their mother would then go to the warrior's den. He was worried how the other's would treat her, but he would make sure to emphasize they needed to respect her as a clanmate.

"Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather beneath the tallbranch for a clan meeting!" He let out a yowl to summon the whole clan for the meeting.

Crowkit strode over to the Tallbranch- fast enough to try and be the first, but not racing there like a dumb tom. She sat down and began to lick her paw. Hopefully the announcement would start soon.

Sedgestrike waited for Crowkit's appearance with both disdain and apprehension. Why a cat would name a kit crow was lost on him. He suppressed his emotions as he gestured to the kit with his tail. Crowstar had also been named for his arch nemesis in life, interacting with him had been difficult enough. Now there was a kit with the name, a half-clan one and one he had to make sure was trained properly no less. It was frustrating.

He forced himself to declare the words needed.
"Crowkit," He suppressed the urge to let a growl escape "Step forward." He blinked once, to clear any sense of aggression from his gaze. While he dissapproved of her being half-clan, and her name, there was no sense in making her too miserable. He'd save that for if she failed in her training. "You have reached the age of Six moons, and as such, you no longer need to stay in the nursery. From this day on, until you recieve your warrior name, you will be known as Crowpaw. Your mentor will be Pantherblaze." He turned to Pantherblaze with a firm nod. "I trust he will instill the loyalty needed in the clan."  With the announcement made, he leapt down from the tallbranch.

(OOC: So just to clarify, Ripped ask that I finish up this ceremony on their behalf, so just pretend Sedgestrike called it... also Sedge is terrified of crows, which is why his reaction is so bad to her name. XD )

IC: Crowkit proudly stepped forward, ignorant of the tom's anger and fear. Crowpaw was her name now. But Sedgestrike's last comment made her stop. "Excuse me?" She called out. "Instill loyalty? You say that like I don't have any! As if I'd be loyal to something stupid like Thunderclan." She rolled her eyes, flicked her tail, and strode to her new den without a second thought.
