Swanpaw's Moonstone Journey

That, more than anything, had been what Swanpaw needed to hear. As her mother's shimmering form faded back into the starry landscape around her, she realized that the landscape was beginning to fade as well. Flowerpetal's words gave her something she hadn't had in some time - a sense of hope. Not just determination or spite, but honest hope that maybe she could be a better cat, someone who learned from her mistakes. Hope that maybe she wasn't a lost cause, that she was more than just a disappointment. As she woke, nose still pressed to the cold stone, Swanpaw let out a sigh. She had faced one of the nightmares that haunted her and come out alive, ready to move forward. Small steps, in the right direction this time.
