Marsh vs. Rain (closed)

Rainpaw wandered along the edges of the Thunderpath, carefully checking the rocky path for monsters. He could hear pawsteps coming from the other side of the thunderpath. A ThunderClan cat? Rainpaw scowled, puffing up trying to make himself hopefully look more intimidating. No other cats really thought he was intimidating, especially when he spoke. He always sounded frightened, when he wasn’t always scared.

Amber eyes from a dark tabby tom watched the forest around him carefully. His tail flicked calmly as he strolled through the prey lush forest of Thunderclan. It was nice to get a break from being near so many cats in the camp, he allowed himself the luxury of a stroll around the border. His eyes, nose and mouth ready for the scent of intruders, but he had little thought one actually would. It was newleaf, and prey was abundant now.

When he picked up the scent and sounds of a young windclan cat, he followed it curiously. Careful to stay on the thunderclan side of the border as he did so. The large adult tom caught side of the grey pelt of Rainpaw and caused him to pause. His tail twitched in amusement. Just another apprentice, well that was hardly a danger.

"You're awfully close to our borders." He stated bluntly. His eyes narrowed less humoursly, a growl in the back of his throat. A firm warning not to set paw further. "Is there a reason for you to be here?"

Rainpaw narrowed his eyes, getting ready to unsheathe his claws. ”Im just patrolling. You do realize you are just as close to the border?” He asked, though Marshpaw was close, he wasn’t as close as Rainpaw. The blue-gray tom should have looked more carefully when making sure he wasn’t crossing.

(OOC: oml, I just remembered that Tc and Wc don't actually share a border... Though Rainpaw could have stepped through fourtrees near TC's border?)


Marshpaw flicked his tail. His claws bared as he gave Rainpaw a warning glance. His posture wasn't an outright threat, but it was a warning.
"You should turn back and go home, or keep going." He meowed slowly, amber eyes locked onto the other apprentice. "Before your youth gets the better of you. "

”I have not crossed the border, and I won’t take orders from a Thunderclanner!” Rainpaw hissed. He wasn’t sure wether that was a good idea to say or not.. either way he didn’t want to show weakness.

"Consider it friendly advice from a cat older and stronger than you." Marshpaw suggested calmly. He was relieved that the scent of kittypet had long since washed off his coat, or else his words would have held no weight at all. "Just because our clans are allied, doesn't mean this border is welcoming to you moor runners."

Rainpaw’s paws tingled with frustration. He wasn’t gonna take orders from a ThunderClan apprentice! He got into a leaping position. It was not exactly his thing to attack first, especially at a border.. but he had to show he was tough! Or was this stupid?
The blue-gray tom lunges forward, swiping his claw at Marshpaw’s side.

Marshpaw's amber eyes narrowed as the grey apprentice launched himself at him. The dark tabby winced as claws pierced his fur, but he twisted and leapt onto his opponent with a growl.
"I warned you." He hissed.

Marshpaw used leap-and-hold on Rainpaw. Rainpaw is stunned for two turns.
