A Long Day [Open] [Crust Kits Topic]

It was definitely a quiet day.

Gustpuddle sat in the nursery, her heart full of joy, contentedness, and worry all at once. She was happy that the kits were finally here, worried that someone would find out about Crowstar, and content to sit and marvel at her newly born kits all day. As she gazed down at the somewhat large litter of kits, her amber eyes sparkled with a wonder that she hadn't felt in a long time. These were her kits. But then, a sudden pang of realization hit her. Not only were they her kits, but they were also Crowstar's kits. SkyClan kits. Did they really belong with her, in WindClan, or with SkyClan? She'd have to ponder that thought later, because when she looked up to the entrance of the nursery, there was the figure of another cat standing there, presumably wanting to see the kits.

Having just gotten back from an unsuccessful patrol, Ryecloud padded into camp, his limp leg causing trouble again. 'Find... Featherlight,' the tom thought to himself, wincing as pain shot through his back.

Slowly making his way to the medicine cat's den, the she-cat was nowhere to be found and he was soon told that she was in the nursery.

Limping to the nursery and entering, the sound of tiny mews filled the air and the warm scent of blood flooded the warrior's nostrils. Waiting a moment for his eyes to adjust to the clammy darkness, he turned his head to see his sister, Gustpuddle, with several kits swarming her belly for a meal, their pitiful cries like buzzing bees.

"Feaberbright?" the deformed tom asked, not recognizing the situation and simply thinking about the task at hand, per usual.

The little Crowkit blinked at the light.

Ravenkit stumbled around his mother, his legs still wobbly and unsure of themselves as they moved. At the sound of a voice other than his mother’s, he mewed softly to signify that he was here. Who was this stranger? What were they doing? Why were they there? The mewing continued as he shuffled his way around the nursery.

Hollykit yawned and purred quietly.

Mistykit tumbled over as she pushed against her siblings, mewing with joy as she stood back up and barreled into one of them. She wobbled and rolled over again, purring.

Goosekit was still snuggled up as close as he could get to his mother. The new world was cold and scary and infinitely big. He wasn’t ready. He let out a pitiful mew as one of his siblings bumped into him. The small tom pressed against Gustpuddle again, trying to get out of Mistykit’s path.

Ploverkit was the only one that wasn't trying to move from his spot. He was curled up close to his mother and very warm. The tom didn't make a single noise choosing to stay where he was even if he was going to get walked over by his siblings. Ploverkit let out the smallest mew and curled up in a tighter ball staying warm.
