Rippedsky was sitting near the head of the group per usual, yet still in the midst of the rest of the clan. His eyes were trained on Crowstar as he spoke. However, they flashed to Ashkit as he was called forwards. A brief pang of guilt reminded him of scaring the kit. Oh how he reminded the tom of a young Mumblefoot, maybe a bit more outwardly emotional, but still very much the same as his son. Regardless, he was eager to see the progress of the young cat.
He was contemplating the little tom's future when his name was called. Was he to mentor Ashpaw? That thought hadn't occurred to him. But, maybe Brokenpaw would be able to help his new denmate toughen up a little. The black tom had been a good apprentice so far and would no doubt continue to be a great warrior.
Rippedsky got to his paws and padded over to the newly named Ashpaw, "Welcome, Ashpaw. I cannot wait to begin our training together."

Mumblefoot gathered with the rest of the clan. He was glad to see another apprentice ceremony. It meant there was something good happening for the clan. He looked over at the little tom with interest. What kind of warrior would he be? Before long, the tom was named as his father's apprentice. Yet, another one. The great Rippedsky could handle it all. A pang of jealousy and... something else hit him as for the thousandth time he wondered why the son of the deputy was cursed with so many issues. His eyes fell for a moment, but as soon as Crowstar officially announced the new apprentice, he pushed it away for later. His own problems should not come before the joy of a new apprentice, "Ashpaw! Ashpaw!"
