Crowkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to hunt their own prey, gather beneath the willow branch for a clan meeting!" The tom called after finishing Duskpaw's ceremony. Now, it was the turn of her sister, Crowkit. She looked a lot like her mother, Tinytip, except for the eyes, which were as green as Batfang's.

The black and white she-kit ran from the nursery as fast as she could when she heard the calling of the deputy. She sat down among the rest of her clanmates with her tail waving to one side to another anxiously. This could be her ceremony! Duskpaw was already an apprentice so she should be one too.

"Crowkit, please step forward." He requested when his eyes spotted the small and black silhouette of the she-kit soon to be named apprentice.

"Crowkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and now it is time for you to be apprenticed. From now on you will be known as Crowpaw until the day you're ready to become a warrior. Your mentor will be Spotfur, a young but brave warrior who has shown constantly his loyalty to the clan. I hope he passes his knowledge to you." No more words were needed and the ceremony was over. Jaystream left the branch with one strong leap and landed gracefully, joining the celebration briefly before returning to his usual duties.

Spotfur let out a small gasp. He was a mentor now!? He stepped forward to touch noses with his new apprentice. "I will train you best I can."
