Silverkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Littlelight hopped up on highrock, yawning as he sat in the middle to where the whole Clan could see him. Littlelight, of course, was in a good mood yet again, his icy blue eyes shining in the milky morning sun. The deputy cleared his throat and called out, "All cats old enough to hunt and catch their own prey, gather for a ceremony!"

Mistyflower padded over from the fresh-kill pile, wondering what was happening now. Maybe it's an apprentice ceremony. Maybe I'll get my own apprentice!

Swifttalon padded over, quietly but quickly and sat by his sister. An apprentice ceremony? Maybe I'll get my own!

Silverkit bounced out of the nursery. "Oh boy! Maybe it's my apprentice ceremony!!!" Silverkit ran right in front of the place where her deputy was standing.

Mistyflower purred at the sight of Silverkit. "Guess it's her ceremony," she told Swifttalon. "I remember when I was about to be made an apprentice. You think one of us is going to get her?"

Littlelight looked around the gathering Clan and took a breath to start. "We are gathered here in the naming of a new apprentice," he announced warmly. "Silverkit," he mewed, "you have lived under the nursery for 6 moons and are ready to become an apprentice. From this day, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Silverpaw." He flicked his tail towards the tom next to Mistyflower. "Swifttalon will train you in the way of the warrior code. Swifttalon, I know you'll do great training your first apprentice." The deputy nodded and looked towards the new apprentice.

Swifttalon padded up to Silverpaw and touched his nose to hers. "Hi Silverpaw," he mewed cheerfully. "We'll start your training tomorrow, alright? Go get some rest so you'll be up and energetic for tomorrow!"

Silverpaw nodded. "Yes Swifttalon!" Silverkit touched noses with her mentor and sat down quietly.
