OOC: So Sorry for my delay. I’m finally going to be active again.

IC: The spotted dark tom walked with Scorchclaw to their hunting spot and he nodded at his words, agreeing the instructions he just gave to the apprentices. Batfang walked away and searched for some land prey to test his luck. He tracked down a water vole and crouched down for the leap but a branch fell from a tree before he could jump, scaring the small animal. He hissed frustrated and kept looking for more prey.

As Scorchclaw scanned the dark waters for the appearance of another fish, his fluffy tail swept rhythmically from side to side. Careful not to let his shadow fall over the water, he was currently seated about a tail length from the river. The river was a convenient source of food for RiverClan, but fishing was an skill that required patience. Being patient while fishing was a lot harder said than done. There had been times in the tabby tom's apprenticeship when he had gotten impatient for fish to show up and ended up messing up his catch. He was older now, and more experienced, but waiting for fish was still a tedious task. His vision was blurring at the edges from staring at the river for too long, and his mind was zoning out, but there were still no fish to be seen. He couldn't help but wonder whether the other members of the patrol were faring better than he was.

For no specific reason, he turned his head to the right. It was at that moment when he caught sight of a mouse scurrying around the base of a shrub not too far from him. The decision took only a split-second to make. He didn't know how high his chances of actually catching the mouse were, but it was clear he wasn't catching anything else right now. With barely a sound, Scorchclaw slowly lifted himself off the ground and into the hunting crouch. His big paws quickly carried him across the sand and gravel of the riverbank. In a heartbeat, he was directly behind the prey creature. Right before he could sink his claws into it, however, a foul scent flooded the air, and the brown warrior found himself gazing into the familiar red-furred visage of a fox. He saw a flash of yellowed teeth and sprung backwards, narrowly dodging the deadly bite. "Fox!" He shouted at the top of his lungs. "Batfang, I need your help! Apprentices stay away!" His heart was still pounding wildly within his chest from the close call, but he narrowed his green eyes at the fox as he let out a threatening growl.

The vixen glared at the gathered cats, a mix of frustration and anger rushing through its body. Great. Just what it needed. More cats. Barely a few sunrises had passed since its run-in with some especially aggressive cats in the marshes. The fox had thought that it would be easy to kill them, but it had ended up being driven away. Just what was with the population of cats in this forest? Maybe it had been a mistake to set its den in here. Well, it was kind of late to regret that decision now. If only it had been just a tad faster, it would have been able to bite down on the big brown one. Foolish prey-creatures. The thought rushed through its mind as its features contorted into a snarl. Don't look down on me! It had failed in its previous attempt, but this time the fox was definitely dragging one of the cats back to its den to feed the cubs.

Hailpaw heard the cry of help of the older tom and she couldn't just stay away. Instead, the she-at ran toward the origin of the call and she found herself facing a huge, hungry vixen. She was scared but that wouldn't stop her. The deputy's daughter ran toward the predator focused on the warrior and she headbutted it as hard as she could.

Hailpaw used Run-and-Tackle, dealing 6 + 3 damage and costing 10 stamina.

Birchpaw pricked his ears at the call for help. He rushed towards the sound, his eyes wide with fear. Before long he came across the patrol he was in and a vixen. He waited until after Hailpaw attacked, and charged at the fox, completely ignoring Scorchfang's warning. He lept onto the orange beast's back, raking at it with unsheathed claws, and bit down on it's scruff.

Birchpaw used Leap-And-Hold on fox, dealing 6 damage and costing 10 stamina. Fox is stunned for two turns
