Birchkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Carrying his exhausted body, Jaystream stood up in the willow branch, looking down at his clanmates. Everything seemed so dark and different since Cinderpaw's death... "L-Let all cats old enough to hunt their own prey, gather beneath the willow branch for a clan meeting!" He yowled with a barely shaky voice. He couldn't recover from the pain that tormented his heart.

Birchkit walked out of the nursery and headed towards the willow branch, ready to take his apprentice name. He stood tall and tried to look as big as he could. He looked up at jaystream, awaiting his next words.

Not being his usual self, the deputy looked down at the second son of Sweetheart, who was now old enough to be an apprentice. Taking a deep breath to settle his depressed feelings, Jaystream started his speech. "Birchkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and now it is time for you to be apprenticed. From now on you will be known as Birchpaw and your mentor is going to be Snailbelly, an experienced and valued Riverclan warrior. Please be sure to learn a lot of him." No more words came out of his mouth as he left the branch with an emotionless expression on his face that hid his sorrow.
