From the Mountains

Emberheart was in ThunderClan's camp, enjoying the relative normalcy of the day. Enough eventful days had passed by now, to the point that she still found herself practically leaping to attention at every patrol's return just in case. The peace she had found on occasion in her apprenticeship faded from her reach with each passing day, alongside the remarks from certain Clanmates - some of whom hadn't even been born when she became a warrior. But regardless of who delivered the blow, it still stung just a little.

Dustcloud was just coming back from a solo 'patrol', a 'patrol' in which she had spent at Fourtrees with Rowantalon. No one, at least that she knew of, knew that they were friends, and she intended to keep it that way. The last thing that she needed was more drama, what with the current Clan tensions, and the lingering pressure throughout the forest. She was still unsure of her relationship with Rowantalon, but she hoped for her Clan's sake that he only saw her as a friend, because though it would make things harder for her, ThunderClan would be better off. She didn't have any prey to show for, which was nothing new, but she was still ashamed. For StarClan's sake, she was a warrior! She shook her head, looking at her paws as she walked. She almost ran into Emberheart, as she wasn't paying attention to where she was going. "O-Oh! I'm s-so s-s-sorry!"

Emberheart, who had nearly and literally run into many warriors in her time, found herself jumping back out of reflex. She had no desire to be on the wrong side of a Clanmate at high speed. After her reflexive response, however, she paused to take in the voice and appearance of the cat that had nearly knocked her over. Dustcloud. "Whoa-- What's got you in such a hurry?" the ginger warrior asked, tilting her head to the side just slightly.

Tatteredleaf was laying by the leader's den, watching the bustle of the camp. She had been spending more and more time staying by the leader's den and talking with Blizzardstar in free time. She had watched Dustcloud walk into camp with nothing to show for her patrol. How her head hung low, almost causing her to run into Emberheart. Dull amber eyes looked at the two warriors, they had such drive.. While she lacked that because of her incident with the badger.. Maybe she would have it again one day..

Coyotefang hung to the side of the clearing. His head was low as he picked lazily at an almost entirely eaten vole carcass. He did miss the constant food source at the spot he'd live at Old Twolegplace and his stomach growled in protest. The tabby tom simply fixed his amber eyes on the frozen dirt that was half-speckled with snow. For the day, he had done his duties. What prey he did manage to find was rather scrawny. Although he desired to tear into decent sized thrush he had sloppily caught earlier, unspoken clan rules said otherwise. At the thought, he huffed lowly.

There was a commotion near the middle of camp and he glanced upwards. A couple of warriors were messing around like kits. It was pathetic. A scoff left his maw. How can they be so... comfortable? One ear flicked lazily before turning back to the ground. Whatever was happening, he was resolved to not be involved.
