Rainkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Ashstar leapt onto the Tallrock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather underneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting!" she yowled commandingly.

Rainkit lifted his head as Ashstar called another meeting. His mother said he could go to this one, was it special? He padded over, excited that he was at a meeting.

Ashstar nodded approvingly at the young kit. "Rainkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Rainpaw. Your mentor will be Hollowbranch. I hope he will pass down all he knows on to you."

Rainpaw gasped as his name was called.
He purred with delight as he was named an apprentice. ”When-when do w-we st-start?” He asked, grinning broadly. Ugh, he stuttered. Why do I always have to stutter? Would it ever go away? Maybe if he talked slower? He didn’t even talk fast at all, so why talk slower than everyone else? That would bore people. Hopefully no one would make fun of him.

Hollowbranch stepped forward. A steady stream of apprentices was okay with him. He dipped his head to Rainpaw. "You can start right now, I can show you the territory if you're waiting to walk.
