I Have The Best Intentions! (Closed for Maple)

Sootkit trotted into the medicine cat's den, a whole new bloody scratch on his flank. "Hellooo~ooo? Nettlesting? I'm bleeding again." The kit called, sitting down. He seemed to be around five or six moons old, and peered around the dark den with pale fern green eyes. His pelt was smoky, like he had just come running out of a fire mostly unscathed but dusted with soot. He also seemed to not understand how to groom himself, because his long fur stuck out in nearly every direction and was speckled with pine needles and burrs.

He seemed slightly confused by the lack of the medicine cat's presence so he blinked, turning to the nearest cat in the den with a puzzled expression. "Where's that big orange furball at when ya need him?"

"I'd watch your tongue, little one, before a big nasty badger comes in here and gobbles you up!" The now-legless she-cat chuckled from her nest as she watched the little ball of fuzz wander around the den that she now resided in. Her eyes fell to a spot on his flank that a little scratch on it. She got up slowly to avoid too much pain, and walked toward Nettlesting's herb collection, spotting the cobwebs out of the corner of her eye. She didn't know much about herbs, but she knew what a cobweb was and how to use it. She gingerly took a wad out and pressed against the small kits flank, trying to stop the bleeding. When she was done she tossed it to the side, too weak to carry it out of the den, or go out of the den at all. She slowly hopped back to her nest at the very back of the den, flicking her tail to beckon the young kit over. "Now that that is done, how about a story or two?" She smiled at the small bundle of fur that was sitting in the middle of the den, cocking her head to the side just slightly.

The kit plopped down in front of her looking stubborn "I'm not afraid of no stinky badger! I'll make it run away crying for it's big stinky mama!" He boasted, looking proud of himself. He seemed to consider the ginger she-cat for a moment before nodding. "Okay! My sister's in time-out anyways for playing too rough again, so I don't have anything better to do." His curious gaze was drawn to her missing leg, but his mother taught him better than to ask rude questions. He was supposed to respect she-cats after all. His mom insisted upon that. Looking back up to her amber eyes he tiled his head. "What kind of story? I'm Sootkit by the way!"
