Maple Sun (CLOSED)

Maplekit was bored. No one let her do anything, and she was starting to get restless. She rolled onto her paws and found a not-busy-looking cat with unusually large ears. She nudged the tall cat- Sunflower, she remembered. "Hey, hey, hey, mister Sunflower?" She asked. Once she had his attention, she waved her tail to keep in her excitement, and said energetically, "Why don't mountains catch colds?"

Not having been expecting any cat to talk to him, Sunflower was somewhat startled at the kit's sudden appearance. Looking down to the small she-cat, he vaguely remembered that she was one of Firflower's kits, but he didn't remember her name, which in the end he supposed wasn't a big deal.

"W-why?" the abnormally tall, meek warrior mewed softly as one of his big ears flicked. Was this kit trying to tell a joke?

Maplekit was so happy he had responded, she almost didn't finish the joke. After a moment of hesitation, she finished, "Because they have snow caps!" After waiting for a reaction, she said, "This is the peak of humor. Mountain peak."

Listening as the kit finished her joke, Sunflower stayed silent. He'd never been told a joke before... was this something to laugh at? He wasn't one to laugh, nor even crack the slightest of smiles, and sitting across from the little she-cat who was looking up at him with a grin made his heart start to pound. He had to say something, but what?

"Ha," the abnormally tall tom mewed a single laugh, his face stoic and ears hot as if he'd been sitting in the sun for too long. He must've looked like such a loser and hopefully Maplekit didn't take his quietness the wrong way.
