Quickest Hunting Patrol Everr

Leafstorm padded towards the camp entrance, yawning slightly. Leopardclaw had chosen a handful of cats to join the dawn patrol, and he was among them. The large tom looked wistfully towards the small fresh-kill pile, his stomach rumbling. They had better get this done soon.

Featherpaw made his way slowly out of the apprentices den. His eyes blinked blearily to clear the sleepiness from his eyes as he settled in the snow next to Leafstorm with a yawn in the chilly air.
"Morning, Leafstorm." He greeted the large tom, his tone cheerful despite waking up in the cold air of leaf-bare once more. "What are you hoping to catch this morning?" He asked, trying to make pleasant conversation while he waited to see if any of the other patrol members were going to join them.

Birchheart had finally gotten away from some kits who wanted her to give then badger rides. She had to do other things but, perhaps she'd do it later in the day to tire them out for their parents. She chuckled and looked around camp to see what else needed to be done and was surprised to see her father out and about. It was a welcome sight to see him. She purred, shaking bits of moss and feathers, souvenirs from the nursery, out of her fur after running over to him. "I was hoping that you'd be in this patrol as well! I hope we catch something good."

Leafstorm managed to smile as two cats picked his way towards him through the snow- Featherpaw, his grandson, and Birchheart, his daughter. "I'm hoping to find a squirrel or two. A little extra meat goes a long way... Good morning, Birchheart." He purred, resting his chin on her head lightly. She had been spending quite a lot of time in the nursery lately, and it was nice to see her out and about.
"Right. Let's get going." He mewed, pushing his way through the snow. Within a few moments, a familiar skittering sound reached his ears. With a soft, nearly silent hiss, the large tom dropped into a hunting crouch.
With a swift pounce, he landed directly on the snow drift, his claws finding their way through the deep snow. "Yes!"
With a triumphant grin, he emerged from the snowdrift, a large squirrel dangling from his jaws. "I'll bury this here."

"A squirrel, you think you'll be that lucky, old tom?" Featherpaw teased, a playful smirk on his muzzle as Birchheart came over. "Hey Birhheart!" He greeted. A small thrill in his body as Leafstorm led the patrol into the forest. He felt a great delight in the forest's snow covered ground, but also a  great seriousness. He knew the clan needdd every ounce of prey it could find. Small and elder lives could Ben at stake every miss.

He scented the ground carefully. The scent of a thrush close by had him stopping abruptly. His body turned towards the prey he could scent but not see. Carefully, he worked his way up towards a bush. Soft scuffling and the normal soft calls luring him in closer until the bird's head shot up.

Featherpaw huffed in discontent as the bird abruptly flew away, but he made it back to the group in time to seen Leafstorm's catch.
"Serves me right." He chuckled in good spirits as he scented around for another prey.

Birchheart followed the two of them. The light banter was welcomed in contrast to all the dreariness of the war looming above them. She saw her father catch an impressive squirrel and let out a deep sigh. She always had a big shadow to fill, now was certainly no different. She scented a robin and followed the scent to a log where said bird sat. Slipping through the crunching snow she bunched up her hind legs and sprung up with claws outstretched to the bird. Unfortunately, a much larger creature had the same idea.

Featherpaw didn't see the eagle in time to warn Birchheart. His attention had been on a scent trail until he heard the beating of large wings. He turned his attention to see Birchheart get attacked and hissed furiously at the giant bird as Leafstorm ordered him to stay back. Featherpaw waited until Leafstorm had the eagle pinned then ran towards the tree nearest to them. His claws sank deep into the bark as he climbed half-way up and near the back of the eagle's wings where it seemed like he'd avoid getting hurt himself. He launched himself off the tree and raked his claws fiercly on it as he descended behind Leafstorm onto the eagle's feathered back.

Featherpaw used Tree Spring on the Eagle. It is still stunned for 1 more turn
