Wisteriapaw's ginger-and-white fur was fluffed up in an attempt to keep herself warm despite the cold air of leafbare. She was far more open to talking because of the fact that she knew who she was with. Now, she kept telling herself that she should know all of her Clanmates, but the more she tried to build up the courage to speak to them, the more she kept backing out of it. While stuttering was something that she did normally, it all seemed to get worse. She couldn't even speak properly with her own mentor. Most of the time, Wisteriapaw just enjoyed the company of either herself or her family, but there were times when she did want a friend, someone who wasn't a brother, a sister, a mother, or a father. However, Wisteriapaw knew that her wishes couldn't come true if she didn't make them come true herself. The she-cat looked up in surprise once the smell of SkyClan hit her nose. She flattened her ears against her head as she glanced over at the land on the other side of the border.
"I-I did-didn't k-know that w-we had g-gone s-so f-ar." The she-cat said, glancing over at Featherpaw.

⚜ poplarpaw ⚜

Poplarpaw's whole situation was far different from Wisteriapaw's. The only reason why he was antisocial was that he wanted to be. He didn't like most cats, and he thought that being by himself was far better than being with anybody else. Wisteriapaw actually wanted friends, Poplarpaw didn't. The brown-and-white tom padded through the territory with a mission in his mind. He knew that Sedgepaw was with him, but the only time he acknowledged his denmate was when they had left camp. He had been able to pick up the scent of ThunderClan as they neared the border, and he had wanted to check on the border just in case something was happening. However, he hadn't been expecting to see two ThunderClan cats on the other side once the border had come into view.

He walked quietly alongside his sister. Featherpaw paid close attention to each tree, admiring the scorch marks that showed on some of the trunks. Some of them had long icicles dripping down from the branches that loomed above them. He stepped lightly over frozen puddles and looked at every bush they passed in some hope of prey. If they could take something back to the clan, it'd certainly add to their patrol. Though those thoughts soon faded as an unfamiliar scent crossed his nose. He frowned and lifted his head to see branches higher than he remembered, and a massive fallen oak. His ear flicked towards his sister, and he nodded uncertainly.
"It's alright Wisteriapaw, I wasn't paying attention either. Let's just turn here and go along our border." He offered, though the potential of delaying battle was short lived.

Sedgepaw huffed as he walked beside Poplarpaw. Occasionally jumping over deep patches of snow as he fluffed his silver coat.
"Stupid snow." He grouched, shaking some ice off his paw as they walked. "Can't wait till spring." He turned to his denmate, who seemed content to ignore him. That was fine. Sedgepaw trudged along until he glimpsed the Thunderclan cats. Suddenly, he closed in tighter to Poplarpaw with a growl. "Thunderclan. We should teach them a lesson." He suggested, his green eyes glinting.

Wisteriapaw nodded, agreeing with her brother.
"W-we don't wa-wanna c-cause any t-trouble wi-with SkyC-"
"Hey! What are you doing here?"
Wisteriapaw let out a tiny squeak and leaped back a tiny bit in fear. She had been hoping that they wouldn't run into SkyClan, but alas, here they were. Fortunately, there seemed to be only two cats, and they appeared to be around her age. At least they weren't warriors... that'd be even worse. She lowered her head and stared down at her ginger-and-white paws. While she knew that she should come up with some response, she couldn't summon the courage to even look the SkyClan apprentices in the eye.
Please don't attack us, please don't attack us, please... please, don't attack us!

⚜ poplarpaw ⚜

Poplarpaw averted his gaze to look at Sedgepaw and silently nodded at the tom's suggestion. If Poplarpaw didn't even enjoy the company of cats in his own Clan, then he certainly didn't enjoy the presence of rival Clan cats. With a small growl, the tom padded forwards to make himself and Sedgepaw known to the two apprentices of ThunderClan.
"Hey!" He began, raising his voice a bit, "What are you doing here?"
The brown-and-white tom narrowed his eyes once he saw the reaction of the ThunderClan she-cat. He hadn't even attacked her, and she was still acting like she was being faced with her doom.
"Honestly, you look like a mouse could scare you to death." The tom muttered and rolled his eyes.
He then glared at the tom that was beside the she-cat. He wasn't ready to act soft with either of them.

Featherpaw growled at the other cats. The hairs on his pelt and back raised defensively as he stepped in front of Wisteriapaw to shield her from them instinctively.
"We're doing our border patrol. Just like you are I assume." He pointed out, attempting to keep the concern and unease from his tone. He stepped closer to her, but he kept somewhat back as he didn't trust the toms across the border. If he was too close, Wisteriapaw wouldn't be able to attack back effectively.

The silver tom glared at Wisteriapaw. He watched as the she-cat trembled and seemed too timid to fight a squirrel, let alone a cat. His claws raked the ground as he thought about it, then looked at Poplarpaw with a confident smirk.
"Let's show these Thunderclan cats a lesson." He growled, then turned and lunged towards Wisteriapaw before Featherpaw could finish calling her name in warning.

Wisteriapaw closed her eyes tightly after Poplarpaw's insulting remark, but tried to block it out. It wasn't like that was the first time those lines had been said to her. She silently let Featherpaw do the talking, but if a fight were to break out, then she knew that she was going to have to strike back somehow. She quickly lifted her head once she heard her brother begin to call her name in warning, but it was too late for her to dodge or block the attack. She let out a high-pitched yelp as she was tackled onto her back by the SkyClan tom. The she-cat used this position to her advantage and flipped the two of them over so that she was the one on top and was able to pin the tom down.

Poplarpaw nodded sharply as Sedgepaw raced forwards and tackled the timid ThunderClan apprentice to the ground. Following suit, the brown-and-white tom darted towards the other apprentice and tackled him so that his belly was facing up. Unsheathing his claws, Poplarpaw began to claw away at Featherpaw's underbelly with his sharp claws.

Featherpaw attempted to run towards his sister when he was tackled. He yowled and spat beneath the brown-and-white tom, twisting his body to get out from underneath him as claws raked his orange belly fur. He growled as he managed to manouver his way out and lunged at Poplarpaw to land his claws solidly against the other apprentice's back.

Wisteriapaw didn't respond to Sedgepaw's angry hiss. She didn't even want to be fighting this cat in the first place. The she-cat lifted her paw, with her hooked claws unsheathed, and lashed it out at Sedgepaw's face.
"I'm so sorry." She whimpered as she took a tiny step back after her attack.

Poplarpaw growled in irritation as the ginger tom attacked him and he held back a yelp of pain as he felt claws sink into his back. With all the force he could muster, the tom shook Featherpaw off and whirled around to face the ThunderClan cat. The anger on his face was evident. He wanted to win this fight.

Featherpaw clung on for as long as he could, his claws raking down the enemy apprentice's back until he was forced to let go, but only with a strike at his side.
" Skyclan brutes!" He hissed in agrivation. " We didn't come for a fight!"

Wisteriapaw sucked in a breath of pain once she felt her tail be yanked furiously by Sedgepaw. Being knocked off balance, the she-cat was able to be clawed by the SkyClan tom. She stumbled backwards, but tried not to completely fall. She looked at Sedgepaw with an expression that gave away pure fear instead of anger.

The brown-and-white tom hissed at Featherpaw with no remorse in his eyes.
"If you don't want to fight, then why don't you flee?" The tom taunted, backing up a couple of paces before he bounded forwards and barreled into the ThunderClan cat with all the strength he could summon at the moment.

"I'm not a coward." Featherpaw hissed "I will fight to defend my clan and its borders." The orange tom stared back at Poplarpaw and took advantage of the tackle. When he was hit, he spun around quickly to grab the other tom's tail and clamped down hard.

Wisteriapaw tried to block out the insults once again. She didn't want to prove to Sedgepaw that she was weak and pathetic. She had been born straight into the Clan, not adopted, not found on the edge of the Thunderpath, and not born into the home of a Twoleg. Maybe she wasn't the strongest cat in the world, but at least she knew her origins, and she was proud of them. Looking straight up at the tom who was on top of her, the she-cat lifted her hind legs up and began to claw at his exposed belly.

However, despite his taunts, Featherpaw's jaws on his fluffy brown-and-white tail ended up disrupting his balance and he managed to swallow back another yowl of agony.

Featherpaw refused to be distracted by the taunt. He struck out with open claws at the enemy tom's hindquarters before he finally relented and glared down the tom.
"Wisteriapaw is my sister. I know she can win." Featherpaw meowed confidently, he looked back towards her and Sedgepaw. The silver tom seemed to be having issues balancing. He turned back to Poplarpaw with a confident look. "You Skyclan toms have lost."

Sedgepaw stared down the she-cat, surprised when she used her position to her advantage and held back a yowl of pain. He staggered back and away from her, then looked towards Poplarpaw. He didn't look any better off than Sedgepaw did. Furious, he lunged at Wisteriapaw and stared her straight in the eyes as he stared her down.
"Next time we meet, your fur will line my nest. Mousepaw." He taunted, then turned abruptly. "Let's go Poplarpaw. These cats is Kittypet clan aren't worth anymore effort."

Wisteriapaw couldn't help but narrow her bold yellow eyes at the comment. ThunderClan wasn't a kittypet Clan. While they did take in those who needed help, and a place to stay, that didn't mean that they were a soft Clan. If that was the case, then the SkyClan cats would've won. The she-cat sheathed her claws, but simply slapped her front right paw against Sedgepaw's face. Afterwards, she took a couple of steps back and lowered her head a bit.
"T-ThunderClan i-isnt a-a kit-kittypet Clan... and m-my name i-is n-not Mou-Mousepaw." She whispered so softly that even she had trouble hearing herself.

Poplarpaw let out a grunt as Featherpaw decided to strike him one more time. He had lost... and even Sedgepaw had acknowledged that. What was he supposed to do now? He was going to be known as the apprentice who had lost to a ThunderClan cat. He had to find some sort of way to make that status something positive next time. With a hiss, he lashed his tail and turned away from the two ThunderClan apprentices.
"Don't think that I'll forget about this." The brown-and-white tom told Featherpaw with pure anger dripping from his voice.
The tom hissed at Wisteriapaw after she hit Sedgepaw before thrusting his head in the direction that pointed back to camp. Without looking back, the tom padded away from the border and headed back to camp.
