Jaypaw split up from the patrol and he locked his gaze onto a hare that was unsuspectingly nibbling on a blade of dead grass.  He crouched with his tail flicking back and forth He launched himself at the creature and landed on it with a lot force and killed it.

Silentstrike followed all of the apprentices out of the territory, staying near the back so he could watch all of them easily. As each of them went after the prey they had seeked out, he thought about how he and Quailfeather would eventually need to tell Rookpaw about how she really came to be in WindClan. It wouldn't be easy, but it would need to be done. He shook his head, and his ears perked when he picked up the scent of a hare. He strayed a little from the rest of the patrol, though he still kept his eyes on the apprentices. He followed the scent carefully, making sure to stay downwind of it. He lowered to a crouch, searching through the tall grass with large blue eyes. As soon as he spotted the hare, he was distracted by one of the apprentices making a catch and stood up, causing the creature to dart away faster than he could comprehend what was going on. He made chase, desperately trying to catch the scrawny little thing, but failing as it darted into its burrow. With a sigh, he returned to where the apprentices were.

Rookpaw dragged the carcass of the rabbit she had managed to kill over to the rest of the group, attempting to shout with glee. Of course, her words were muffled by the fur of the prey, which was more fur than meat, in all honesty. But she had caught it! All by herself, too!
