Finchkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Blizzardstar leaped onto the Highrock, war or not, injuries or not, ceremonies should still be a priority “All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Highrock for a clan meeting!”.

Finchkit stepped closer with his wide open eyes scanning all around. He knew only that it was apprentice ceremony, because queens were whispering that some kits are old enough to be apprentices. He was hopping that soon this honour would be his. Without knowing the main thing he squeezed himself through the mass of older cats and nearer to the Highrock where Blizzardstar was standing. Then he calmed down.

Once enough cats were gathered beneath the Highrock, the white leader finally decided to go on "Finchkit, please, step forward”.

Finchkit opened his mouth when the leader called him. After all he was the kit which was old enough for becoming apprentice. A little confused, but proud and ambitious as always, he padded closer with tail lifted up.

Blizzardstar chuckled softly when the kit stumbled forwards, though she thought this was an accident caused by excitement instead of his paws “Finchkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Finchpaw” She took a quick glance at the warriors gathered before picking one for the new apprentice “Your mentor will be Toadleap. I hope he passes down all he knows on to you” With that she jumped off the Highrock, dismissing the clan.

Newly named Finchpaw dipped his head extremely proudly and happy looking around for the warrior named Toadleaf. He was also very fond of the fact that he would not sleep in the nursery anymore.

OOC: Sorry for posting later; I just got back from my hiatus.

IC: Toadleap had joined the clan cats a bit late. He was still feeling the aftermath of the battle from a while ago. Having sat down with a downcast expression, he hadn't expected any of the good news to affect him.

When he heard that he was granted an apprentice, however, he pricked his ears and blinked his green-blue eyes wide open. Still a new warrior, he was awestruck that he was given an apprentice so soon. Padding forward, he touched noses with the new apprentice. He hoped that he could do his own old mentor, Birdflight, justice in teaching the new apprentice.
