Dappledkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Blizzardstar leaped onto the Highrock, war or not, injuries or not, ceremonies should still be a priority “All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Highrock for a clan meeting!”.

Dappledkit burst from the nursery and sprinted to the Highrock. All of his siblings were now apprentices...could this be his ceremony? He stumbled and tripped over his massive paws, landing in a heap near the Highrock. He sat up and gave his chest fur a small, embarrassed lick.

Once enough cats were gathered beneath the Highrock, the white leader finally decided to go on "Dappledkit, please, step forward”.

Dappledkit felt a wave of shock crash over him, before he felt dizzy with excitement. His apprentice ceremony was finally here! He took a deep breath and tried hard to look like a dignified warrior as he stepped forwards, but ruined the effect slightly by stumbling over his huge paws and only just managing to not fall over. He turned his gaze to his leader, anticipating the moment he would become a ‘paw. Who would his mentor be? Would it be a tom or a she? Would they train him well?

Blizzardstar chuckled softly when the kit stumbled forwards, though she thought this was an accident caused by excitement instead of his paws “Dappledkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Dappledpaw” She took a quick glance at the warriors gathered before picking one for the new apprentice “Your mentor will be Heatherpetal. I hope she passes down all she knows on to you” With that she jumped off the Highrock, dismissing the clan.

The newly named Dappledpaw dipped his head in respect and turned to Heatherpetal. He touched noses with his new mentor.

Heatherpetal blinked in utter shock. She was already training an apprentice of her own, and now she was to train another at the same time? Either there was some sort of mistake or misunderstanding, or Blizzardstar truly felt she had what it took to train two apprentices at once. Either way, she was pleased to meet her new apprentice. She touched noses with Dappledpaw and smiled at him. "I will do my very best to be the best mentor I can be."

Flickerpaw looked at the newly named Dappledpaw. "So we're all apprentices now," She said, and licked the fur on Dappledpaw's head. Now nobody would be stuck in camp. "Remember, Dappledpaw, we're going to have to make sure we act like Sharptooth is a fellow Clanmate as well as our mother rather than just mama."
