Leopard and His Little Heather (CLOSED)

Heatherpetal waited patiently by the entrance of ThunderClan's camp, yet her paws eagerly kneaded the snow underpaw. Leopardclaw had promised to go on a one-on-one patrol with her so they could work on their father-daughter bone; her adopted father was also Clan deputy so he had many duties to uphold, and while she perfectly understood the importance -- especially with Blizzardstar feeling under the weather -- she had to admit she missed him. She hadn't spent any quality time with him since she was a kit, and she wanted to make sure this outing would go off without a hitch.

Unless, of course, the patrol turned into a hunting patrol... There was a reason she didn't take her assessment as an apprentice, and she was grateful for the fox and owl encounters that allowed her former mentor Reedheart to brush over her assessment. She was possibly the absolute worst hunter in the Clan, only ever catching two pieces of fresh-kill for the Clan -- one of them of course being the large owl she encountered with Emberpaw, but even then she didn't bring the bird of prey down by herself.

Hopefully this would just be a normal border patrol with nothing too exciting except for the bonding between Heatherpetal and her adopted father. Maybe a quick little border skirmish, but nothing more. Oh, StarClan, please don't let Leopardclaw see what a failure of a hunter one of his little flowers was...

Leopardclaw's back scraped satisfyingly against the thorny branches that made up the entrance of the warrior's den, his jaws gaping in a yawn.  After attending a hunting patrol that morning he had managed to find enough time for a quick nap in the warmth of his comfortable nest, but now he was once again adventuring out into the cold.  This time though, he had no complaints; time spent with his beloved family was worth far more than a little extra sleep.  Meeting Heatherpetal's bright golden gaze from across the clearing, he half-waded through the snow to meet her, purring a friendly greeting and touching his muzzle to her ear affectionately.  "Sorry if I kept you waiting, let's head out."  Turning his snow-covered paws toward the camp entrance, he waited for his adopted daughter to fall in beside him before pushing his way out of the gorse tunnel.

"That's alright, Leopardclaw," Heatherpetal purred back, warm happiness blossoming in her chest at her adopted father's affectionate greeting. She following him out of camp to the ravine that lead up to the forest beyond. As an apprentice during her first official patrol with Reedheart, Specklefang, and Emberpaw, she was barely able to climb the steep earth without sliding back to the bottom -- now it was especially tricky climbing up with the slippery snow. Wanting to prove herself a capable warrior, especially to her father and the Clan's deputy, she crouched down and waggled her haunches before bounding up the ravine. She sighed in relief when she made it to the top without too much difficulty, only slipping on the snow once or twice and sending loose clumps tumbling down behind her.
