Fox that Hunts in the Night's Renaming Ceremony

Crowstar was glad his clan was growing, the leader called out. "Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather here for a clan meeting!"

The prey hunter approached the leader along the other clan cats. He sat alone and looked at Crowstar with serious eyes, quietly. What was going on this time? Another ceremony? He really wished that the tom had made a decision about his request of joining. He had been working so hard... and after what he learned from the Moonstone trip, the tom wanted to be a Skyclan warrior more than anything.

"The time has come to fully accept a cat into our ranks, and give him a proper warrior name." The leader turned his attention to Fox "Fox please come forward."

He breathed deeply closing his eyes as he stood up and stepped forward. This was his time... this was the moment he had been waiting for. The moment he would join Skyclan... where Cloverleaf would stay forever. This was his decision... this was what he wanted since she left. Skyclan was his real home, the home of his ancestors. With determination, the spotted tom looked directly the yellow eyes of the leader, without blinking. He was no longer just a prey-hunter... he was a fighter... and soon, a warrior of Skyclan.

"I, Crowstar, leader of Skyclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this prey-hunter. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn. Fox that Hunts in the Night, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" Crowstar asked.

Standing steady and strong, the prey-hunter didn't hesitate. This was his choice... not the choice of the Stoneteller or the Tribe. This was something he had to do because here was where he truly belonged. "I do." He mewed, flicking his tail up, proudly.

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your new name. Fox that Hunts in the Night , from this day forward you shall be known as Foxhunter. We welcome you as a full member of Skyclan. Congratulations." The leader said, happy that his numbers were growing.
