Mumblekit's Apprentice Ceremony

Crowstar called out to his clan, "Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather here for a clan meeting!"

A tiny black and white tom appeared slowly from the nursery at the leader's call. He looked up to Crowstar in the daylight now. It was a sight to see the massive, battle-scarred, black and fluffy warrior. There was no doubt as to why he was the leader of Skyclan. Feeling self-conscious under the light of day, Mumblekit stuck near the edge of the clearing with Whiteheart. Not much had changed and he was still her little shadow. But, they had to join to watch the announcement like everyone else, even if he still wanted to hide in the nursery.

"Today we are gathered to turn another kit into an Apprentice. Mumblekit please come forward." The leader said.

The kit's ears flattened uncomfortably againsy his head. As his mother's nose nudged him forward, Mumblekit felt his body tremble. There were so many cats around right now and they were all staring at him. Hesitantly, he padded a few steps closer to the tallbranch, waiting for Crowstar to speak. Was this really what he wanted? To leave the nursery and start training?

"Mumblekit from this moment on, until you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Mumblepaw. Your mentor will be Hawkstrike." The tom was strong, and a little more aggressive, and he felt that is what Mumblepaw needed. "I hope he passes all that he knows on to you."

The newly named Mumblepaw said nothing as he glanced around to find that cat that was to mentor him. A slight shutter ran down his spine as he looked up at a huge tom whose pelt was covered with a variety of scars. I wonder how he got those... His eyes widened as he thought of the possibility. Not wanting to move, the apprentice simply looked at Hawkstrike. He felt frozen to the ground. This was the cat that was to mentor him? Mumblepaw had conflicting feelings about training with this warrior, but Crowstar knew best. His orange-ish eyes glanced back to lock with Whiteheart's. How was he supposed to sleep without her at night? It even seemed wrong to be away for too long. Becoming an apprentice didn't seem like the most thrilling thing, but as cats cheered his new name, it was what he supposed was best.
