Just bored...

Nightpaw walked out of the apprentice's den boredly. She didn't have anything to do. The she-cat looked around announcing that she was going hunting to the clan, in case somebody wanted to join her. She sat down and began grooming herself as she waited for a couple others.

Spotted walked out of the apprentice den form a good night sleep. She woke up to her sister calling a hunt and she wanted to go with. She walked up her sister sitting down. "hey sis can I come with?" she asked and sat down.

The pale golden noticed the two young apprentices that were going on a patrol. Reedheart walked to them, smiling kindly. ”Hi, you’ll need a warrior if you want to go on a patrol so I hope you don’t mind me joining you. Is that okay?” He purred sitting down among the two sisters.

Heatherpaw spotted her new mentor sitting with her two new denmates and slowly approached them, trying and failing to keep eye contact with Nightpaw and Spottedpaw. "Um... M-May I come with you? If that's okay with Reedheart and, well, everyone else..."

"Hello Spottedpaw! Of course you may join!" She looked over at the warrior that was headed their way. "Reedheart! Thank you for joining!" She finally looked at Heatherpaw with a smile. "Hey Heatherpaw! I'll be more than happy if you do join!" The dark furred apprentice looked at the other three. "Alright! Let's get going!" She led them out if the camp and into the tree-filled territory.

Once they made it to a good spot, she turned to address them. "We can split up to hunt now! If you want to hunt with someone feel free to join me." she said with a grin. She left in some direction in search of some prey.

Heatherpaw looked up nervously at Reedheart, looking embarrassed. "Um... I don't know how to hunt. You'll teach me, right?"

Spotted paw followed her sis into the forest. She knew she could hunt alone but she never really spent time with her so she wanted this to also be a family bonding moment. "wait up nightpaw im coming with." she said smiling and going after her.

”Of course! Come with me and we willl hunt together” He said flicking his tail as he walked following the strong scent of a group of squirrels. Making a sign with his tail telling Heatherpaw to stay low, the tom crouched and approached a solitary squirrel from behind. Smirking, the tom jumped and killed the prey with his claws before it could escape. Returning back quietly, he pointed with his head another squirrel that still hadn’t notice their presence. ”Squirrels are good objectives to start, give it a try.”

Heatherpaw nodded and crept low to the ground, stalking the oblivious squirrel from behind. She licked her lips in concentration, trying to silence her stomach from growling, and finally she leaped.

The leaves behind her flitted up once again, and the squirrel was quick to race up the nearest tree. Heatherpaw crashed headfirst into the sturdy trunk and gave a hiss of pain as she shook it. "Mouse dung!... I'll never get this right!"

All of a sudden, a powerfully rancid stench filled the air, and moments later a fox stalked out of the bushes, snarling at the cats.

Heatherpaw's fur bushed up. She had never seen a fox before, and she had never had any proper battle training. However, she knew she had to defend herself eventually. Pulsing with fear, she slashed her claws out at its muzzle.

Heatherpaw used Front Paw Strike, dealing 6 damage and costing 10 SP.

Reedheart watched Heatherpaw a few steps away and frowned when she failed. He was worried that this failing attempts would make her feel discouraged. That could lead her to not be a warrior and that would make him a failure as a mentor.
Some heavy steps caught his attention and soon he stood up with unsheathed claws when he saw the large fox approaching his apprentice. Afraid about her not knowing how to fight, the tom ran and jumped toward its scruff, biting it hard so the predator would get distracted from her.

Reedheart used Leap-and-Hold dealing 8 damage and costing 10 stamina. Fox is stunned for one turn.

Nightpaw was about to head off with Spottedpaw before she heard the sounds of a battle. The she-cat ran toward the sounds and soon found Heatherpaw and Reedheart battling a fox. She jumped into battle with teeth bared. She managed to pin the fox down, with the help of Reedheart, and began to rake its belly with needle-sharp claws. She jumped off once she deemed the damage deep.

OOC: I'm sorry I haven't been posting but I've had a bunch of homework and stuff! :(

Heatherpaw realized she would never be able to properly battle the fox, especially with her lack of proper battle training. She decided to call out, "I'll get help!" before fleeing into the forest, searching for the other members of the hunting patrol.
