Reedpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Blizzardstar smiled as she hoped onto the Highrock, finally another apprentice was ready to become a warrior “All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Highrock for a clan meeting!”.

Reedpaw left the apprentice den with a peaceful and happy smile. He sat down in front of the leader, eagerly to hear what she had to say. Since his arrival after the Moonstone trip, he felt happier than usual. His talk with his sister was useful to endure him as a cat and guide him to the right path of a warrior. Maybe this was his ceremony, he thought excited.

Once enough cats were gathered beneath the Highrock, the white leader finally decided to go on "Reedpaw, please, step forward”.

A bright smile appeared on Reedpaw’s as he trotted to the be in front of Blizzardstar. The large tom puffed up his chest, proudly looking at the leader with green eyes. Finally... it was his moment to be a warrior... the warrior he always wanted to be since he was a kit.

Blizzardstar took a deep breath “I, Blizzardstar, leader of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn” Her gentle eyes soon landed on the the proud tom“Reedpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?”.

”I do!” He said strong and loud, so everyone in the clan could see his determination.

Blizzardstar smiled and nodded approvingly before she continued speaking “Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Reedpaw, from this moment you will be known as Reedheart. StarClan honors your bravery and loyalty, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan” With that, she leaped off the Highrock and rested her muzzle on the newly named warrior’s head to conclude the ceremony.

Leopardclaw had been watching proudly from the crowd as his eldest son finally earned his warrior name; and there was no doubt in his mind that he fully deserved it.  After all the young golden apprentice had been through, he had grown into a brave, skilled, dedicated member of the clan.  Watching him now, smiling and speaking the scared oath every warrior of the forest took, the deputy couldn't be more proud.  "Reedheart!  Reedheart!  REEDHEART!"  His voice bellowed around the camp as Leopardclaw jumped forward and gave his son a brief nuzzle, his hazel eyes displaying the deep pride and emotion his voice had trouble expressing.

Birdflight ran up to Reedheart with a grin and pride in her eyes. "Hey big brother! Congratulations on becoming a warrior!" she purred. The she-cat then began to chant his name. "Reedheart, Reedheart!"
