Nut to Fawn Training (For Poison Ivy)

OOC: I'll rp the owl. Do you know how to use the battle system?

Nutfur nodded encouragingly as Fawnpaw started stalking the frog. She seemed to be doing well, but then the frog leapt away and a scent filled her nostrils. Oh no. Before she could give her warning, the owl  flew out into the open, and her apprentice was running to her side with terrified eyes. For a moment she just stood there, forgetting what to do. She had never fought an owl before, and had only fought a cat once before. But fighting an owl must be similar to fighting a cat, so she would use the same techniques.
"I'm going to temporarily stun it by  pushing it underwater, and after I do that I want you to rake at it's stomach with your claws. The goal isn't to kill it, just hurt it enough so it gets scared and leaves." After those instructions, the new warrior let out a fierce yowl and flew at the owl's side with unsheathed claws. Her paws hit the side of its neck and scent the large bird sprawling into one of the pools. Using all of her weight, she pinned it down beneath the water and waited for her apprentice to attack.

Nutfur used Underwater Clinch on the Owl, dealing 8 damage and costing 10 stamina. Owl is stunned for one turn.

OOC: I think i pretty much know it enough, but if there are any tips that I should know, feel free to tell me.

Fawnpaw nodded nervously and watched as her mentor ran at the owl. Once Nutfur had pinned the owl in the water, Fawnpaw charged forward. She slashed her claws against the owl's soft underbelly.

Fawnpaw used Belly Rake, dealing 7 damage and costing 10 SP.

OOC: Was that okay?

OOC: That was good, just remember to put in your opponent's HP and SP as well. Also, Nutfur's words about not killing it means taking it down to like one or two HP without taking away all of it.

The owl screeched and hissed as it was thrown underwater, but was unable to make any noise while underwater. A muffled screech came from under the water and bubble rose up as Fawnpaw attacked it, and a few moments later the huge bird's head resurfaced, unbalancing Nutfur for just a moment, but to dazed to attack.

Owl is no longer stunned.


Nutfur recovered from her initial surprised at the force of the bird, and realized that she wasn't quite sure what to do next. In the moment, all she could come up with was raking its face. Springing off from her hind legs, she leapt for the feathery face of owl, hissing ferociously. She sliced at its flesh with unsheathed claws, drawing blood and causing the bird the let out a cry of pain and anguish once again. The chestnut warrior smirked a little and kept clawing until her paws grew tired.

Nutfur used Front Paw Strike on Owl, dealing 8 damage and costing 10 stamina.

Fawnpaw watched her mentor slash her claws at the owl's face. Remembering just how Nutfur did it, Fawnpaw sprang forward at owl, and swiped her claws against its flesh. 

Fawnpaw used Front Paw Strike, and dealt 6 HP, costing 10 SP.

OOC: Should I add Nutfur's health and stamina in my posts for this battle, since she is participating in the fight?

OOC: You do not need to because Fawnpaw is not attacking Nutfur or visa versa, but if you would like to you can include it.

The owl cried out in alarm as both cats attacked it's face, blood dripping into its eyes and making it even more angry. With a nearly unearthly screech it opened its wings and flew into the air, now where it was more comfortable to attack. Hooting in aggression, it dove down to attack the brown she-cat. Its talons dragged painfully through her fur and into her flesh, but due to the speed the large bird was traveling at it only lasted a few seconds.

Owl used Talon Strike on Nutfur, dealing 10 damage and costing 10 stamina

"Great job, Fawnpaw! Keep attacking it!" Nutfur praised as her apprentice joined her in attacking the bird. A yowl escaped her throat as the owl's talons ripped through her pelt, but just ground her teeth together to deal with the huge loads of pain it had caused her. As soon as the claws left her pelt, she jumped onto her hind legs and slashed at the owl's wing before it was able to fly away. She kept ripping her claws through its feathers, not being able to help but grin knowing that this was what had caused the huge cuts on her back. Hopefully she was keeping it down far enough so that Fawnpaw could attack it too.

Fawnpaw's anxiety turned into excitement. They were winning!
Her pelt started to spike as she saw her mentor get slashed by the owl's talons. Fawnpaw ran at the large bird again, and reared up on her hind legs for a brief moment before bringing her claws down, and raking the owl's stomach.

Fawnpaw used Belly Rake, dealing 7 HP, and costing 10 SP!

The owl's short turn to victory faded as one of its wings was assaulted and another she-cat attacked its belly. Letting a a screech of rage, it swooped for the cream she-cat, determined to get its revenge for the stomach clawing. Once agin, it dug its talons through her pelt at a high speed, slicing through her back without pausing in its flight. 

Owl used Talon Strike on Fawnpaw, dealing 10 damage and costing 10 stamina.

Nutfur fell to her paws, grinning as she realized they were winning. As she was about to congratulate her apprentice, she saw the owl start to swoop towards the smaller she-cat. Before she had time to yell out a warning, the bird had already attacked, and her apprentice had been injured. Her maternal instincts suddenly took charge and she knew what she needed to do. "No! Get away from her!"
The chestnut warrior let out a battle cry as she leapt towards the bird, having no clear plan of what she was going to do. As a last second thought, she brought down both of her paws over the top of the owl's head with as much force as she could. Anger charged her movements and made her every move stronger and more motivated. The owl spun off of balance and landed. Its wing was too injured to fly properly, its face was scarred, its belly was covered in blood, and it was clearly dizzy. After looking between the two cats for a second, it could tell that it had lost. It flapped its massive wings and flew haphazardly into the trees. Once the mentor was sure it was gone, she hurried over to her apprentice. "Are you okay? I'm going to take you to a medicine cat right away!" 


Nutfur used Front Paw Blow on Owl, dealing 6 damage and costing 10 stamina.

Fawnpaw grinned in satisfaction as the owl was getting weak. 
Suddenly, she felt pain shoot through her shoulder. She stumbled back a little, hissing. 
When the owl flew away from Nutfur's last attack, Fawnpaw grinned again, but more faintly. "We won! A-And I'm fine.. it just stings.."  Though, she couldn't help but agree that a trip to the medicine den would do some good.

"Okay, I'm glad you're fine. Can you pick up the two minnows you caught so you can put them in the fresh-kill pile? It is the best feeling in the world to carry back prey you caught on your own. Now let's get you to a medicine cat," Nutfur instructed, breathing a sight of relief that Fawnpaw was okay. Walking over to where they had laid down their prey, she picked up two of the minnows and the frog she had caught. As she waited, her heart started slowing down and her pulse returned to normal as the adrenaline of the fight began to wear off.
