Toadkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Blizzardstar leaped onto the Highrock, ready for another ceremony “All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Highrock for a clan meeting!”.

Toadkit was happy to become an apprentice at last, but as usual, he was in no real rush, preferring to drink in the sight of his many clanmates around him. His fur was well groomed, courtesy of his mother Umberflame, and he padded as about steadily as a cat his age could near to the base of the rock, below where Blizzardstar was. He wagged his raised tail in slight anticipation and mused, I wonder who'll be my mentor.

Once enough cats were gathered beneath the Highrock, the white leader finally decided to go on "Toadkit, please, step forward”.

At hearing his name, Toadkit felt a thrill and this time sprang forward with an eager look in his green-blue eyes. His tail twitched with barely suppressed excitement.

Blizzardstar smiled at the kit before talking again “Toadkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Toadpaw” She took a quick glance at the warriors gathered before picking one for the new apprentice “Your mentor will be Birdflight. I hope she passes down all she knows on to you” With that she jumped off the Highrock, dismissing the clan.

Birdflight had been watching the ceremony with a small smile. She loved to see kits age up and start their journeys to Warriorhood. As the ceremony was coming closer to its end, she had a small flashback of when it was her apprentice ceremony. Not too long ago she had her warrior ceremony. Once her head cleared up, the she-cat froze when her name was called. Your mentor will be Birdflight... 'Me?' the warrior asked herself. She stood up with a prideful expression and walked over to Toadpaw. The now mentor bent down and touched noses with the apprentice. "I'll teach you all that I know. You will make an excellent warrior. Your training will start early tomorrow so make sure you rest." With that, the she-cat headed to the Warrior's den.

Daisypaw bounded up to her brother. "good job toadk- um i mean paw hope we can hunt together soon." she said to her brother and licked his ear. "now we will get to see who is the better warrior." she laughed and headed to the apprentice den for some sleep.

Proud and happy, the new apprentice blinked in awe after his new mentor. Toadpaw then made his way to the apprentice den as well.
