The racoon hissed with fury. It recovered from its tumble and ran straight for the warrior. It released a series of swipes to the warrior's face. It growled as another warning when it backed up once more.

Lilypaw felt anger bubble up as she witnessed the ugly creature attack Splashwillow back. She growled and sprung onto its back and held on as it tried to throw her off. She began to scratch and bite it.

Stumbling back slightly as the Raccoon swiped at her face, Splashwillow let out an inaudible wince as the creatures likely filthy claws left shallow scores across her face. An utterly helpless feeling of dismay bubbled in her chest as she processed the fact that she had actually been hit- was this how Amberpelt felt? Her momentary daze was quickly erased as she watched Lilypaw launch herself at the grey and black creature.

Rising onto her powerful hindlegs, Splashwillow took a brief heartbeat to find her balance before coming crashing down onto the Raccoon's head with all her weight, her thorn-sharp claws raking pointedly at the soft flesh atop the animals head. Before the attacking creature even had time to recognize the fact that a cat had attacked it once more, a deadly 'snap' filled the air and the creature went limp beneath Splashwillow and Lilypaw's claws.

Stepping back from the limp creature with a little puff of exertion, Splashwillow turned to look at Lilypaw with close scrutiny, her amber eyes wide. "Good job." She finally acknowledged wearily, feeling her wounds begin to sting more fiercely now that her adrenaline levels were rapidly falling. Shaking herself and spitting out the foul-tasting Raccoon's blood from her mouth, the young calico warrior allowed her gaze to fall back to the dead Raccoon. They would need to send another patrol out to bury the creature before it started to rot. "Gather up the frog you caught and we'll head back to camp to speak to Fishstar and Ivyfall about your assessment." Splashwillow mewed, nodding her head in the direction of where she spotted Lilypaw hiding the creature, before beginning to stride forwards herself.

Lilypaw nodded and silently retrieved her catch and soon followed Splashwillow back to camp.
