Young Legends

It was dusk, and bitter-cold breeze promised rain as it ran through the territories.
Sharppaw lead the way to Fourtrees, Shewpaw behind her. The fluffy she-cat's brother was unable to lead this meeting so it was her responsibility to take up the mantle.

She arrived in the clearing, taking a deep breath and stepping closer to Greatrock before turning and sitting down.
Her bright eyes shone in the semidarkness as she waited patiently for the others.

Today's battle would be something special. She was sure of that.

Shrewpaw trotted after Sharppaw, anticipation filling his chest. He was sure that fighting with multiple clans would be even more exciting than just the apprentices his own clan had to offer. Though the fluffy she-cat he was following did have exceptional skill, he was sure that the other clans would have their own special moves. As soon as they reached the clearing, he sat down in ThunderClan's usual place, though a bit closer to Greatrock than usual. He look curiously at the "deputy" sitting down in from of him.
"Hey Sharppaw, doesn't the deputy sit on Greatrock when the leader isn't there?" he asked, playfulness in his voice. He wasn't taking this seriously, he never did, but he wanted this to be as much fun as possible.

Swanpaw waltzed into Fourtrees, feeling as superior as she always did as she watched the ThunderClan apprentices who had arrived before her. Her eyes fixed on the one before the Greatrock - the leader, supposedly, at least for the moment. She dipped her head reluctantly, offering her grudging respect, and sat silently, waiting for further instruction.

Driftpaw casually strolled into Fourtrees, seating herself around the other apprentices and sparing a quick glance at each of them. She stared up at Sharppaw, discontent flashing in her eyes. She should be sitting up on the Greatrock. She was the one who had enough power and guts to rightfully kill a trespassing and prey-stealing rogue on her territory! She could still feel the thrill that rushed through her veins as she sliced into the tom's fur - and with this extra training plus her own experience, she'd be able to take over entire clans! She clawed up the grass around her impatiently, ready to start fighting in an instant. She had a raw power that no other cat had, and she would show them.

Willowpaw stalked through the undergrowth to fourtress, the grumpy tom's fur tingling with a rare sense of excitement. Last time he had been here, the Skyclan apprentice met another Willowpaw, a she-cat from Thunderclan. She riled up his nerves, but for the Skyclan tom, all cats are. By the end of their quarrel-filled skirmish, he had been beaten and pride ripped to shreds. However, strangely enough, Willowpaw hadn't been too annoyed by it. He didn't like that there was a cat with his name out there in the clans, never-less a cat who won against him, but afterwards for some reason Willowpaw found himself having an exchange with her that didn't make him feel like he was talking to a mouse-brain for once. It hadn't been anything special, but for a constantly-angry cat like him, Willowpaw found their conversation to be something like a miracle that made himself actually want to seek her out. But if anyone asks (a.k.a his arch-rival Cherrypaw), he did it to one-up the Thunderclan she-cat and make them even in their battles.

When he neared the famous meeting place of the five clans, Willowpaw could smell a small gathering of cats. Irritation prickled his nerves. It was looking like coming out here was a waste of his time. He was too annoyed to be curious about whatever group of cats were, but he grumpily decided to check to see if she was there anyways. 'You better be there Willowpaw, or else I'm going to go into Thunderclan and fight you there myself.' He refused to admit he was slightly desperate to see her.

He tasted the air, but the scents weren't strong enough from where he was hiding. Creeping forward, Willowpaw peered with narrow eyes into the clearing from the bushes.

Willowpaw, who was totally still an apprentice because please let her have this one moment before she's a lonely warrior thanks, padded quietly into fourtrees, her black-and-white pelt sleek and meticulously groomed for the occasion.
She padded up to the others delicately, giving the charming Skyclan tom -yet another Willowpaw- a small smile before turning to Sharppaw, dipping her head slightly.

Owlpaw walked into the Fourtrees clearing to see other apprentices gathered. He let out a small sigh as he boredly strolled in and casually took a seat near the respected Sharppaw. He kept his distance and gave her a nod as a respectful greeting. The dark tom blended well into the surroundings but he made sure every cat knew he was there.

With her lengthy tail swirling behind her, Foxpaw boldly strut into the Fourtrees clearing, her pale malachite eyes narrowed to a smug slit. Though this was her first time in the sacred hollow, she refused to show any sign of intimidation or unease - not infront of the other FightClan members.
 The few early-evening sun rays that managed to penetrate the thick oak canopy dappled the WindClan apprentice's russet fur and caught her vixen-like facial features as she took a seat in the centre of the clearing, a few tail lengths away from a bulky maroon tom and the GreatRock, upon which sat another apprentice. Foxpaw subtly made a mental note of theirs and the other members presence, covering her scrutinisation of their physique with a quick groom of her soft pelt.
 Once she had finished her secret survey, she exhaled sharply and twitched a dark pointed ear. "So when do we fight?" Foxpaw questioned, boredom blanketing her words.

The fluffy tabby she-cat padded into the Gathering, recognizing only a Riverclan she-cat that was an apprentice like her. Her bicolor eyes looked at the other clan cats annoyed and angrily, not even showing the respect that the others showed to the Thunderclan she-cat.

Letting out a growl, the fiery and hot-tempered apprentice looked at the cats, hissing because of the annoyance of being so bored around here with so many cats from different clans. "Hey! What are we waiting here, huh? This place is even more boring than my clan itself! Are we going to fight or not?" Silverpaw was flickering her tail, impatiently to start something useful here.

Willowpaw felt a wave of embarrassment heat his fur when the Thunderclan she-cat he had been hoping would come appeared, giving him a small smile before padding into the clearing. Here he was sitting in this bush looking like a mouse-brain caught red-pawed by the cat he was looking for. Looking to make sure no one notices him emerge from the bushes, Willowpaw climbed out of his leafy hiding spot and started to head into fourtress like he had been walking here normally all this time. Or at least, as normally has he could with his head and shoulders hunched in.

The old apprentice that should've been a warrior moons ago joined them wordlessly, eyes narrowed with irritation at his situation. He had no idea who any of these cats were except for Thunderclan Willowpaw. Apparently they wanted to fight, which he could get behind only if he could fight the Thunderclan she-cat. None of the other cats here were worth his time except her- he needed to prove he was the best Willowpaw.

"I'm fighting you first," Willowpaw rudely cut into the conversation, directing his words with a half-grin of challenge at the Thunderclan Willowpaw. "You're going to regret ever being named Willowpaw after I win today."

Echo that Strides Through spotted Fourtrees and stood for a minute. She was excited for tonight, she wanted to train, and she thought everyone here did too. Some may be here for the enjoyment. She went into the clearing and let out a quiet disappointed sigh, as it looked like she was the only tribe cat, and the only one who wasn't trained for battle. She was at a disadvantage, she knew that. She sighed again before starting to walk around the clearing. She noticed there weren't many cats here, probably got here early. She sat down, listening for any cat who walked over to her.

"Quiet!"

Sharppaw stepped forward, her eyes gleaming. Although she wasn't the most experienced, oldest or biggest of the lot, she had an air of confidence that went unchallenged.

"I'm your leader. You will address me with respect and bravery. Faliure to do so will result in your expulsion from our little... group."
She flicked her tail, her fur slowly fluffing up until she looked twice her size. "There are a few key rules you must obey. One! No dirty fighting. All fights will start on fair ground, unless I say so."
She glanced around, making sure she held everyone's attention until she continued.
"Two! This is a secret. No warrior, kit, elder, deputy, leader, rouge, kittypet or anything in between may be told of this. The only exception of this rule are apprentices. If you wish to recruit an apprentice you must notify me or my deputy.
Three! No killing." The apprentice spat the word, as if it was something as dsigusting as crowfood.


"Fightclan." She, padded between the gathered apprentices, turning every now and then to look one up and down. "We're here to do one thing." She mewed quietly, turning back to face them. "We're here to fight. We don't play games. We don't hunt. We're not kits."

"Tonight, we'll be fighting for the rank of Fightclan's deputy. I'll personally pair each of you up. You may fight once all groups have been assigned."

Her eyes roved over the group as she mentally assessed each apprentice.
"Willowpaw and... Willowpaw." She mewed, giving the two a small nod.
"Silverpaw and Echo."
"Foxpaw and Owlpaw."
"Driftpaw and Swanpaw."

Her eyes turned to Shewpaw. "You'll spar with me, and participate in Round Two."


Without a word she charged at Shewpaw, turning to knock him sideways with her shoulder, sending him sprawling with a grin.

Sharppaw used Run-And-Tackle, dealing 6 (+3) damage and using 10 SP

Willowpaw turned to Willowpaw, grinning. "Let me show you how a Willowpaw should truly fight!"
Mustering all her strength, she smacked him hard across the face with one paw.
"Sorry!" She gasped as beads of blood collected on the thin scratches across his face.

Willowpaw used Front Paw Strike, dealing 6 damage and using 10 SP

Driftpaw grinned as her name was called. Of course, she would get the little snob to rip up. She barely acknowledged the other rules, sauntering over to Swanpaw with cool amber eyes and a swaying tail. She wasn't scared, nor angry. All she had in her heart was self-confidence and determination.

"Ready to get beat?" She teased, flicking the she-cat's nose with her tail. Her gaze burnt into her opponent's fur. She'd never lose. She was too good for that. She buried her claws into the ground, tensing her muscles, making sure her foe wouldn't knock her over. Swanpaw could move first. She'd beat her anyway.

Willowpaw snarled at the attack. "What, you get to attack first again?" The skyclan apprentice narrowed his eyes. "You play dirty." Then he smirked. "But then again, I'd be disappointed even if a fake Willowpaw didn't use underhand means." He shook the blood from his fur and unsheathed his claws. "Even so, I can't let you win. Only I am the real Willowpaw." With that, he darted behind her and pulled her tail to yank her off the ground to catch his opponent off guard.

Willowpaw used Tail Yank, dealing 2 damage using -10 Stamina. Stuns opponent for 1 turn.

Immediately after FightClan's burly leader called her name, Foxpaw whirled round in a flurry of fiery fur. Her pale green eyes that were now alight with a malachite flame of determination spotted her opponent- a slender black and white tom. A wry smirk crept upon her face before she darted forwards towards Owlpaw's tail, enclosing its middle section with her sharp teeth and pulling hard to bring him to the floor. Though she had little battle training physically, mentally she had a mind for war, and was conscious of a cat's weak points.

Foxpaw used Tail Yank, dealing 2 Damage and losing 10 stamina. Opponent is stunned for one turn.
