Swirlpaw slinked towards the back of the group, getting distracted by the bright blue sky of the day. The vastness was impeccable. The white-furred tom never truly took time to appreciate the sky. Now, though, in this patrol where he was working hard to not bother anyone, it was truly a spectacle to behold. Man, thought the apprentice, I'm so proud I took the time to look at this sky right here. I wonder what prompted that.

Asterpaw's eyes lit up as she saw Smallpaw catch the rodent effortlessly. She scanned the area, the sun shining through the leaves, leaving dapples of gold on the undergrowth. Her gaze locked on the bushy tail of a squirrel that was feeding on a small nut. She mimicked his crisp movements of her clan mate, feeling her claws extend instinctively as she pounced. Her claws pierced the soft pelt of the squirrel. "Yes!" She yowled triumphantly. Her first piece of prey!
