Those Too Young Taken Too Soon(open to Riverclan)

The silvery she cat dark maw clamped onto the limp form of the silvery blue tabby of her sister. Tears were in her blue eyes as she struggled to bring in the limp and tattered and bloody form of her sister. Fennelpaw just couldn't beleive it,her sister,Torrentpaw,dead. She and her sister had went hunting in their territory and got separated. It was only a few minutes but it was soon after she heard her sisters yowls for help. That was when she ran to her finding the strong scent of rogue and blood. And her sister bloody and limp form dead. She had been too late and now the weight of that guilt weighed heavily on the young apprentice. She didn't know how to explain it to her father that it was her fault. Ears flat she brought her sisters form to the center of camp and laid her down gently. She tried to groom the blood from her fur which was matted and sticky by now.

Flowerpetal rushed forward. "Fennelpaw?What happened? Is... is that Torrentpaw?"

Fennelpaw couldn't speak at first her eyes watering and tears spilling down her furred face."i...i...it is"She mewed quietly voice shaking."i...i tried t..to get to her...i..."She shook lowering her head a bit. She couldn't speak ears flat she pushed her nose gently into her sisters fur that was growing colder by the minute.

Bump

"T- there are claw marks here!" Flowerpetal mewed in shock. "What happened? Did you see anything?"
The skittish warrior turned around in a circle a few times. "F-Fishstar! Cloud... Cloudstone!"

"I...didnt see anything once I reached her....the area around her smelled heavily of rogue"She mewed looking at Flowerpetal. She watched with grief glazened eyes as she circled frantically

"Rouges? In the territory?" She stopped, her mouth agape. "No, no that can't be. How could they have gotten in? We've been patrolling heavily ever since Rockthorn... and that mist..."

The lilac she-cat shuddered. "This is serious- very, very serious."
Flowerpetal tilted her head. "How do you know the scent of rouge? Um, no, nevermind. Fishstar? Ivyfall! Come quick!"

"I...dont know I just thought it was rogue cause it didn't smell like any of the clans"Fennelpaw mewed voice shaky. She got to her paws slowly"i...i..need to tell Frogjaw"She mewed voice shaking with grief. She was sure it was the last thing her father needed to hear.

Frogjaw came out of the warrior den to the worst sight in the world. His little shekit, his little daughter, dead. The tom let out a heart-wrenching caterwaul as he ran over to his daughter, nosing her fur weakly for her to get up. This couldn't be real, how could StarClan take from him his daughter so soon after taking his mate from him? Where was their compassion?

"Torrentpaw, oh Torrentpaw." There was nothing else he could say, just an endless, broken stream of his kit's name.

It was as if fate had the worst timing. As she had stood her father came from the warriors den. Fennelpaw felt her heart drop as he let out a mournful caterwaul and rushed over. Fennelpaw closed her eyes for a moment before she opened then moved closer to her father wanting comfort him as much as she wanted to comfort herself."i..im sorry dad"She mewed quietly.

Flowerpetal's paws shifted awkwardly as Frogjaw let out a mournful wail and rushed over. Her fur prickled awkwardly as Fennelpaw nuzzled him.
"Frogjaw?" She mewed tentatively. "I- I'm sorry."
She turned to Torrentpaw slowly, gently burying her nose into the apprentice's fur. "May you rest forever in Starclan." She murmured gently before moving aside to make room for the mourning family of two.

Lilypaw had run up quickly, startled by the commotion. "W-What happened?" she asked, her voice laced with worry. Her eyed layed upon Torrentpaw's eerily still body in front of her mourning father's paws. Her eyes widened with horror as she finally understood what was happening. Her paws suddenly felt like liquid and her heart ached with greif. Her throat was dry and she felt her eyes blur with tears. She let out a broken wail as she stumbled to her sister's body. She buried her nose in her sister's fur. She wished for Starclan to not take her so soon.

"It...was a rogue or I think.it was i...me and Torrentpaw we had went out hunting and got separated at some point"She said to say her voice cracking with grief."I should have stayed with her kept a better eyes on her...this is my fault"She mewed quietly.

Frogjaw was not a hotheaded cat like most others, Otterleap was always quick to fight, and Sunfeather had been quick to taunt everyone like it was his right. But he was always calm, wiser than most, it was the only way for a crippled warrior to make it. He fought with his words, a diplomatic cat when others were fighters to the end. But in this moment, a hot rage over took him. "This rogue, where did you meet him. I'll skin that fox-dung and turn him inside out. I'll-"

"Enough." Ivyfall cut in, the deputy walking over with heavy fore-quarters at the scent of blood that permeated the camp. It tore her to know that there was a rogue out their covered in the blood of their clanmate, but she couldn't lose her warriors on a wild goose chase while the mist still posed a threat. "No one is leaving the camp, tonight we will hold a vigil for Torrentpaw, and double the size of our patrols. No more small patrols consisting of only a few cats. And I don't intend of accusing you, Fennelpaw, but what on earth were you two doing alone without your mentor or a warrior. You're both just apprentices, don't you ever do this again. Never leave camp without a warrior to protect you."

Fennelpaw blinked about to respond when she heard Ivyfall. She looked to the deputy"w..we had though that we could try to catch some prey for the clan...we didn't know where our mentor's were at the moment...."She mewed quietly ears flattening against her head quietly.
