A crow's misfortune~

Crowpaw had been walking for what seemed like for hours. He had started his stroll last night. He couldn't sleep, like most nights, and he quietly snuck out of camp. He did this every night but came back before dawn. Last night was different though. He had gone out too far in the Shadowclan territory. He found himself at the deep marshes without knowing. It was early morning and clearly past dawn but that didn't stop him from going on.

He was deep in thought in the center of the marshes when suddenly he lost his footing in soft uneven ground. He fell foward into a deep section of marsh. He yowled in suprise as he struggled to get free. He was gasping for air, claws unsheathed trying to grasp solid ground. In the process, his head got submerged with his paws clinging onto a solid bit of ground he could feel. His head reappeared with his eyes closed and his face twisted in horror and pain. He used his strength to pull himself up out of the marsh water.

Once he got out he ran as fast as his legs could take him. He tried to shake off the murky water from his eyes. They stung and he could barely see anything. He kept bumping who knows what but nothing stopped him from getting back to camp. He slipped a couple times and stepped on some sharp rocks that injured one of his paws. He ran blindly towards the strong scent of his clan but not before collapsing to the ground in exhaustion. He was breathing hard and terrified beyond belief. He was too close not to keep going but his legs were hurting and his eyes were in pain. He let darkness take him as he laid unconscious in the territory near camp.

Rowantalon flicked his tail anxiously. Crowpaw was missing. Most cats insisted that he was just out hunting, but something didn't feel right. He turned to his daughter, Leafpaw, with an anxious frown.
"Where is he?"

Leafpaw felt something missing. She hadn't seen Crowpaw all morning and although most cats reassured Leafpaw and her father that he was alright, they both knew it was on the contrary. She turned to answer his question. "I... I don't know."

As the morning was replaced with the afternoon, Crowpaw finally stirred and opened his eyes, or tried to. The mud from the marsh caked his eyes and kept them shut. He groaned and tried to get up. He collapsed once again since his legs couldn't support him and one of his paws hurt like crazy. He began dragging his body towards the direction of camp. He could smell his clan mates. His forelegs eventually tired out and he laid there hoping that someone would see him and help him out.

Rowantalon padded through the marshes anxiously, Leafpaw on his tail. "He has to be somewhere out here..."
Suddenly he froze, squinting forward.
The tom leapt forward, racing towards the small black lump lying on the ground. "Crowpaw! Crowpaw... what happened?!"

Leafpaw followed after her father, worry pushing out all other thoughts in her mind. Nothing prepared her for Crowpaw lying there, still as the moon. She turned to face her father, throat dry and huskiness edging her mew. "We need to get him back to camp."

OOC: Can one of you guys make a topic to take Crowpaw back to camp? I'll get the med cat after.

Crowpaw had heard pawsteps coming towards him. He was praying to Starclan that it was someone he knew. He forced his irritated eyes open. They ached and burned but his vision was restoring. He saw a figure, what he assumed was an older cat, coming towards him. He also noticed a smaller figure behind them. He wasn't sure who they were until he heard the familiar voices. 'Father and Leafpaw?' He wasn't able to move as his body ached. He quickly closed his eyes since they burned a lot. He wanted to speak but his earlier fright had made his throat dry and sore. He began to shift around to tell them he's responsive.
