Shrikepaw's Warrior Ceremony

Blizzardstar smiled as she hoped onto the Highrock, finally another apprentice was ready to become a warrior “All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Highrock for a clan meeting!”.

Shrikepaw, unbearably excited for his ceremony, stepped from the apprentices' den shaking like a leaf. His apprenticeship had been long and rather unorthodox, but now it was over and he was ready for the next step. He licked down his pelt for perhaps the hundredth time, determined to look as perfect as possible for his warrior ceremony. He settled underneath the Highrock, tail brushing against the ground restlessly.

Leopardclaw gazed down proudly at Shrikepaw; even though he wasn't his apprentice the older tom always felt a thrill watching apprentices become warriors - or making them into warriors.  "Shrikepaw, step forward."  Once the tom had done so, Leopardclaw drew himself up straight and his expression grew serious. “I, Leopardclaw, deputy of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn.  Shrikepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?”

Shrikepaw's gaze shifted up to the deputy, his amber eyes shining with enthusiasm. He was definitely, finally ready to become a warrior! He stepped forward as he was told, shaking slightly out of nerves, and listened to the rest of Leopardclaw's words. "I do." He responded, feeling breathless.

Leopardclaw smiled. "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Shrikepaw, from this moment on you shall be known as Shriketalon. StarClan honors your enthusiasm and adept hunting skills, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan" Hopping off of the Highrock, the large spotted tom-cat rested his chin on the newly-named warrior's head, finishing the formal ceremony.
