Cherrykit's Apprentice Ceremony

Blizzardstar leaped onto the Highrock, ready for another ceremony “All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Highrock for a clan meeting!”.

It was her nerves or so the blind tortie kit hoped. She with hesitant pawsteps made her way out of the nursery. Having learned to walk around camp was easy noe for hee but every noe and then her movements would slip and she would trip over her own paws. She sat down quietly .

Leafstorm quietly followed his daughter out of the nursery, looking tired and sick. His fur was ragged and his eyes were dull, but he was always at his daughter's heels, catching her when she fell and nudging her when she slipped.

Specklefang padded out of the warriors den, finally able to take up her warrior duties once more. Specklefang turned to look at Leafstorm and Cherrykit, glowering protectively as her paws itched to hide Leafstorm from the world. Hissing in self irritation of the protective instincts she turned to look up at Blizzardstar, a large inhale and exhale relaxing her frame.

Cherrykit was greatful for hee father helping her every now and then when she slipped or stumbled. Managing to sit down after a moment her ears flicked before staying up also focused on one voice she had heard,that of her adopted mother. The small tortioshell kitten sat quietly.

Blizzardstar gave a reassuring smile at Leafstorm, knowing how hard the past couple moons had been for him, before talking again “Cherrykit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Cherrypaw” She took a quick glance at the warriors gathered before picking one for the new apprentice “Your mentor will be Specklefang. I hope she passes down all she knows on to you” With that she jumped off the Highrock, dismissing the clan.

Leafstorm turned to Specklefang, grinning. After the twolegs, there was nothing he didn't trust her with, and in his mind there was no other cat suitable to train his daughter.
Although he was sure the she-cat would be tough on Cherrypaw, far tougher than he would ever be, a little bit of toughness might be exactly what Cherrypaw needed.

Specklefang rose to her paws, her face darkening with her stern expression as she got to her paws and padded over towards Cherrypaw. The massive she-cat dwarfed the apprentice so she had to dip her head down to touch noses with her new apprentice. "Tomorrow at sunrise training will begin." She meowed quietly before turning around to disappear into Thunderclan territory.
