It All Started With One Black Hawk [Closed Training]

Hawkstrike padded towards the apprentice’s den, the weak light of the sun barely grazing the camp as the moon retreated and allowed a new day to begin. Even if it was true that the chocolate warrior had finally gotten used to the schedule of the cats of SkyClan his habits of old hadn’t completely faded and some had even morphed to allow him to adjust to the new life he was taking. One of those was the habit of waking before the sun had even showed its golden glow on the horizon.

His forest green eyes appeared to be glowing between the dark shadows of the apprentice’s den as he silently got inside, looking between the sleeping cats in an attempt to identify the white and black pattern belonging to his own apprentice. It took him a bit longer than he would’ve liked, as he was making his best effort to not wake up any other cat accidentally by making noises or stepping on the occasional tail that got on his way, but in the end he finally could find the young she-cat.

Without wasting a single second, he picked her up gently by the scruff, not exactly confident to talk or wake her up just yet, and only placed her back down when they were outside the den. Right after he started to nudge her gently with his nose “Blackpaw, wake up”.

Letting out a light squeal, the apprentice scrambled to her feet, eyes wide, feet splayed, and her fur stuck up. She whipped her head around—nearly crashing into Hawkstrike—and then at the sight of him sat down immediately, blinking slowly.

"It's dark," she said obviously. "Why are we out…here if it's dark?" It wasn't exactly a problem; she woke up early every day; but every apprentice she'd watched through the thorns of the nursery had gotten up when the first glimmers of the sun peeked through. There was no sun now. It might as well have been the middle of the night, for all she knew. Suddenly a wave of nausea crept over her as she realized she would be going out for the first time, and with a tom cat that she didn't know.

Though it was Green-Leaf, she shuddered slightly, awaiting his reply.

ooc: yeah, I know the battle system, sorry for not replying!

Hawkstrike smiled at Blackpaw, not really surprised to see the confused expression on his tiny face at how dark it was. Even if for a tom that grew surrounded by shadows and darkness the place around him was lightened enough with the faint light coming from the break of dawn, he wasn’t surprised that a kit like him wouldn’t be used to it “The sun is already coming up, you’ll be able to see clearly in no time at all. I just thought you would like to start your training before anyone else” He smiled as he pointed to the camp’s entrance with his tail.

“You have nothing to fear, I promise. We’ll start with the basics today” He purred softly, standing up and padding towards the entrance of the camp and exiting it, always making sure that Blackpaw was following him, as he walked towards a nice spot where he hoped they wouldn’t be interrupted.

OOC: You know how to use the Hunting system too???

ooc: kind of shaky on that, but I think I'll be able to…also, Blackpaw is a she-cat xD

Nodding, the young apprentice listened to each of Hawkstrike's words with a kind of starstruck awe, believing everything he said. She padded quietly after the tom, watching every leaf that turned, every slight shiver in the bushes, trying to memorize it all.

As they arrived at the spot, Blackpaw looked up at her mentor with wide, curious eyes, awaiting his first move. Her tail, a mouse-step above the leaf-littered ground, twitched slightly.

OOC: Do you want to try having a quick hunting practice or turn this into a training without system thread so our charries start bonding? Also sorry for the gender confusion >.<

Hawkstrike smiled once they finally arrived to his chosen spot, nodding mostly to himself as he turned around to face Blackpaw, wanting to give her a choice on her training. True, he was kind of shaky on the hunting area, but he thought his knowledge was good enough to at least help his apprentice to learn the basics and sharpen her skills so she wouldn’t have his same problems. In the Dark Forest’s name, he just hoped she didn’t ask to learn how to climb trees, while it was something quite common in SkyClan he still had troubles getting used to it “So, is there anything in specific you want to learn today, Blackpaw?”.

Lifting her small, mismatched head, Blackpaw met his gaze briefly, replying simply: "Fighting." It would be the most important, she supposed; every other cat in the clan knew how to hunt and climb and it wasn't very difficult in Green-Leaf, anyway. What if a badger appeared, or a cat from another clan? Shuddering, she imagined the Mist swooping into camp, screeching cats—

She shook herself out of her daydream, startled at the chirp of a bird. Fighting. Right. Blackpaw would need to know how to fight to defend herself. The little apprentice couldn't hide behind Lillyheart any longer.
