Late Night Complaining (open)

Greenleaf has so far been the only season Firekit has experienced, but she has already declared it to be the worst.
How could anyone stand this heat? The air was dry and yet still made her pelt feel heavy and sticky. Every little movement she made irritated her beyond belief, and you could hear an occasional mutter of curses a kit shouldn't even be thinking of.

Blizzardstar was walking nearby when a small set of curses reached her ears, muffled by the distance and the almost fully rebuilt nursery. She had to admit that such language was far from what she expected to hear coming from such a place, so she decided to investigate what had caused anyone inside to get so angry.

The big fluffy white leader made her way inside, careful to be as silent as possible to not wake any sleeping queens or kits. Her surprise was considerably big when she finally realized that the one cursing was one of the kits “Hey little one. Who taught you those words and why are you talking like that?” While she knew that even apprentices used curses at times, this was the first time she had seen a kit that knew those words and also used them.

Dogkit opened one eye, he heard voices at the far side of the nursery, so he quickly and quietly got to his paws and started making his way through the nursery. He was shocked and sort of in awe to see Blizzardstar and an unknown kit speaking. He shuffled behind a sleeping queen to resume eavesdropping.

A hot wash of shame flooded over Firekit at the sight of the ThunderClan leader. "B-Blizzardstar.." She choked. "I'm not sure what you're talking about. I wasn't saying anything..." Unfortunately a lie escaped her when she hadn't even intended on it and her eyes shifted from side to side suspiciously. "You must have been hearing things! This heat will do that to you."

Blizzardstar just smiled and chuckled as the kit nervously tried to hide her wrongdoings. She was way too experienced for the small kit to fool, but instead of calling her out on that she decided to let it slide “The heat is quite uncomfortable, I won’t deny that. My own coat makes it harder for me to deal with it than most cats, but good things come out of it as well. It’s because of this heat that prey is more abundant and easy to find and that the forest usually would be so green and full of life” She could understand if the kit refused to believe her at the time. After the fire, the territory was barely anything more than blackish trees and soot covered grounds, but hopefully next time Greenleaf arrived the kit would be able to see the beauty of the forest they called home.
