One minute Brindlewhisker was lunging for Smokefang and the next she was promptly being pummeled into the dirt. Again. Hardly able to wheeze out a groan, she found herself laying stunned beside the equally battered form of Mottleheart. Allowing her eyes to fall shut once more, she was tempted to just lay their in the middle of the raging battle and let herself get further trampled upon, but a voice and a rough tongue rasping across her cheek. Dewtuft. "If...if you insist." She weakly croaked, her head lifting slightly from where it had been plopped in the dirt, her heavy-lidded eyes remaining practically glued shut as she continued to sprawl out in the trampled earth. The only thing that managed to catch her attention for long enough to keep her eyes open was the sound of approaching pawsteps and a new voice speaking to both herself and Mottleheart.
Forcing her heavy eyes open, she found herself nodding mindlessly at Oceanlight's words, thankful for the SkyClan Medicine Cat's advice. Even though she didn't want to leave the fight, she knew that if she stayed any longer she would risk much more severe damage being inflicted. Shakily pushing herself to her paws with a low groan, Brindlewhisker awkwardly hobbled after Mottleheart towards the edge of the clearing, wincing with every step she took. Dropping onto her haunches in a pathetic cowering step, she began to watch the battle with narrowed eyes, trying to keep track of Dewtuft in the chaos.
It seemed like a failing effort on the Clans part- no matter how many cats struck at Smokefang or tried to attack Swoop, they all fell. Brindlewhisker felt sick as she observed what seemed like a massacre on the Clan cats part and her wounds pounding terribly as she watched other cats fall victim to the seemingly invincible opponent. Was this the end of their lives as they knew it? The despairing thoughts that filled her mind vanished almost instantly as Ryeheart actually made it onto the Great Rock. Her pale eyes went wide with a confusing mixture of emotions as she watched the young ShadowClan tom strike down Swoop with a brutal efficiency. Although the thought of killing another mother in such a manner horrified her, she'd be lying if she said that she wasn't happy at the sight.
Forcing herself to step forwards, Brindlewhisker surveyed the heavily damaged clearing all around her, disappointment evident in her weary expression- they had managed to defeat Smokefang and Swoop thanks to Ryeheart and yet the Clan Leaders still hadn't been returned to them. Her gaze lingered on the Great Rock for several moments longer, hopefully awaiting Ashstar's return, before the sight of Swoop's limp body caused her to turn away sharply. She didn't want to see those miserable Tribe cats pull down the corpse of that...that monster. Stiffly padding away from the Great Rock with as much vigor as she could manage, the WindClan Deputy turned to watch with bleary eyes as the remaining Deputies and Senior Warriors began to take their leave. "WindClan," Brindlewhisker yowled as loudly as she could manage, "We must return to camp!" She continued before beginning to shamble awkwardly towards the direction of WindClan's camp.
