May's Gathering 2017

The night was clear and slowly warming, the blossoms readily blooming across the clearing. The moonlight shone brightly into the center, almost as if it were awaiting the crowd of cats soon to come.

The black deputy peaked into the moonlit clearing, a small wave of relief washing over him as his eyes took in the empty space. With a short cough, he padded forward, glancing back to make sure his clan followed.

Leopardstar was still rather ill in his den. Two moons later and there were still no signs of the leader's recovery. Magpiewing found himself worrying over the worst. His friend was a strong tom and even though he trusted and believed in a healthy recovery, a fearful doubt was always hidden in the back of his mind. Despite his time as deputy, Leopardstar had yet to climb the High Rock as a full-fledged leader. All Magpiewing could pray for was the spotted tom to return to his normal health and live a successful life as ShadowClan's leader.

Without the watching eyes of every other clan, the tom managed to climb up the rock without much effort. He sat perched on the edge, glancing down at his clan as they pooled in and settled down. Hopefully, nothing would disturb the gathering tonight. He was too dumbfounded and shocked to even breath a word last time. Thankfully the leaders had managed to speak things through without needing his input. He was sure they were all aware enough of ShadowClan's 'anti-stranger' policies to know those strange "Tribe" cats would never be allowed into the marshes.

Perhaps he would need to clarify it this time...

With Magpiewing leading the way, Swiftclaw padded into the gathering. The news about the tribe was still weird to him and sat wrong. These strange cats simply wandered in unannounced and Skyclan took them in as well as Windclan. He was glad that they were going to be taken care of, but he found it strange. Maybe there was a lesson to be learned in all of this? As he padded into the clearing, he found a small spot near the back and sat down, waiting for the other clans to arrive.

Thrushstripe followed close behind Magpiewing, looking around the clearing as if he had never been here. He had opted out of the last gathering simply to continue to get used to his new position as elder, but of course, he missed the best stuff. In his absence a new group of cats wandered in and had been taken in by Skyclan. The former leader was disgusted to hear about that, but it wasn't Shadowclan. Magpiewing had come back with the same amount of cats he left with and that pleased the elder. However, he was not about to miss this gathering. He hated that he felt like one of those typical elders that sat around and gossiped, but this was the only way to keep up with what was going on. Thrushstripe needed to make sure that everything was still going smoothly.

Echopaw followed her mentor, Swiftclaw, close behind. She was so nervous about meeting so many different cats. At hearing the news from the last Gathering she could`t help but get excited though, maybe something big would happen at this one? Maybe she could meet some of these `Tribe` cats, she has no idea why most of her Clanmates were so mean at the idea of these tribe cats. They were just cats who needed a home. Why get angry over that? She had no idea. But she knew better then to voice her opinions to the older cats so she just followed silently. At seeing where Swiftclaw sat down she followed close behind not knowing where to sit, she sat close by him admiring the beauty of Fourtrees.

Bearpaw walked towards the front of the group--compared to the older, more experienced warriors, the apprentice looked small, but walked with a long, confident stride, nonetheless. His whiskers twitched with anticipation as they neared Fourtrees--this would be his first gathering, and he was excited to see so many cats from other clans in one place. He wanted to see if any of those Tribe cats everyone had been talking about would be there, but he also saw this as an opportunity to size up potential future opponents. After all, there was a truce for the night, but it didn't last. He was keeping in mind what he had been told, to be friendly with cats of other clans, but to never be too close. Why he would ever want to be close, he had no idea.
He followed Magpiewing down into the clearing, trying to see if he could pick up any other clan scents yet--nothing. ShadowClan was the first to arrive, it seemed. He found a place to sit near the outskirts of the clearing, his pale eyes scanning the distant horizon for signs of other clans. They fixated, for a moment, on the ShadowClan deputy. This wasn't the first gathering Magpiewing had taken the clan to... In fact, Bearpaw wasn't sure he had ever seen their actual leader lead the group from camp. He heard that Leopardstar was sick, but on the road to recovery, but lately, Magpiewing felt more like a leader to him than Leopardstar did. He supposed it didn't really matter, but he couldn't quite shake a feeling of jealousy as he watched Magpiewing. He aspired to be in that position one day, but now, actually seeing Magpiewing lead, he felt a sense of impatience that he found hard to shake. He distracted himself by padding over to sit beside Echopaw, who was looking a bit lost. He waved his tail in greeting. "It's pretty cool, right?" He mewed cheerfully, "What do you think the view from the High Rock is like?" After all, the clearing was truly beautiful, and he was willing to bet that it was twice as beautiful from above.

Rowanpaw yawned as he followed Bearpaw into the clearing. The large apprentice stretched luxuriously, blinking his dark green eyes before padding over to the other apprentices.
"I wonder what it's like to be up there." He mewed, looking up.
But the rock was only mildly interesting, so the apprentice took to scanning the crowd of cats instead. "Looks like Shadowclan's the first to arrive," He commented.

Echopaw glanced around trying to take everything in. This place was huge! Just thinking of how many cats this place could hold made her dizzy with the thought. Suddenly her friend, Bearpaw, padded up to her she smiled back in her greeting towards him. She nodded, "It must be beautiful up there especially when all the Clans are here. Why is Magpiewing up there and not Leopardstar? Is he still sick?" She has never even seen the leader leave the camp. Not trying to picture Magpiewing as the leader was hard as he was the one that did everything, and the only one that was the leader while she was in her apprenticeship. She did feel bad for viewing Magpiewing as such when clearly he was not the leader, feeling like she was betraying Leopardstar for seeing that.

Ashstar was next to the Gathering, leading WindClan behind her. The moon had rushed by like a day- one second she was leading home two Tribe cats out of the scores more that had been absorbed into SkyClan, the next- here she was, striding back into Fourtrees for another Gathering. Disappointed and confused to see that Magpiewing was still on the Great Rock- he had yet to explain what had happened to Thrushstar and Leopardfang!- the fluffy gray she-cat leapt onto the large, flat stone, dipping her head to the tom. Her head swiveled around, searching the crowds of cats for the next Clans to come. Her business with Crowstar was definitely not finished- and his mouse-brained choice of deputy. However, this Gathering definitely needed to stay peaceful. The last thing the forest needed was more tension and unnecessary fighting. If the fox-hearted SkyClan leader tried to insult her again she would most definitely fight back, but she wouldn't start any feuds. She was no Fishstar- she knew infinitely better than to make those mistakes. If Crowstar wanted to choose a cowardly traitor for a deputy, it was his business, she supposed. But if he thought that her lack of aggression towards him would make their two Clans allies or even on speaking terms, he was more wrong than Saltpelt, who assumed she could take over WindClan without retaliation. The WindClan leader sat on the rock, stiff and sure as a stone, waiting for the other Clans to flood in as they so usually did.

Honeydrop padded uneasily into Fourtrees, aware of her figure change that would likely draw many questionable looks. After Rabbitfoot had helped her figure out what had happened after that night she spent with Flamestrike, she had known what she needed to do. And she still hadn't had the chance to talk to Leopardstar about it. But by StarClan, she wouldn't abandon ShadowClan... or her unborn kits. Hopefully, the fact that she had been undergoing so much stress lately along with the fact that she was still very sick would help stifle questions about her obvious symptoms. With luck, no one would notice anything particularly amiss, and she would be completely fine. Guiding Roaringpaw behind her, the golden dappled she-cat sat by the base of the Great Rock where the other medicine cats were sure to soon congregate.

Darkpaw followed behind Echopaw, her head low and her ears flattened, seeing how Blackpaw walked beside Silentstorm, and suddenly a strike of jealous hit her sister and Silentstorm did go along well, but between her and Ryepaw was always tension and confusion, but Darkpaw sighed and remembered that if she really love him, she had to set him free, all the black she-cat was see him happy and if someone else did that, Darkpaw will be proud.

Blackpaw walked alongside Silentstorm brushing against him and purring low, forgeting her sister was still hurt between her and Ryepaw, Blackpaw looked back only to see the gaze of Darkpaw blazing with anger, sadness and confusion, the black she-ccat sighed and kept walking forward and not looking back to see a sad and hurted, heart-broken Darkpaw.

Mossfoot trailed some way behind WindClan as she walked into the Gathering. The events of the last moon still lingered in her mind, especially with the two new cats that had joined WindClan. She was all for change and new beginnings - in fact, she was practically the expert on the subject, but something felt...off about tonight. Hopefully there would be no more fighting tonight...

Pinepaw strode into the Gathering with a proud smirk across his face. This was to be his second ever - a proud feat in his young eyes. Granted, his last one had been rather...unusual, and he had to wonder what this one would hold. He slid into a seat next to a WindClan cat, one who looked about his age. "How's it going?"

The Savannah pale Sandy spotted she cat padded in after Windclan. Cheetahpaw stood somewhat y'all her height added extra as she was definitely taller then a normal apprentice thanks to her long legs. Cheetahpaw looked around this was her first gathering. After looking around the long legged apprentice took a seat quietly. 

Gentlepaw followed Windclan in as well just behind Cheetahpaw. The apprentice flicked her back twisted paw for a moment when she stepped in something before quietly following and looking around. She hopes to see Sagepaw but she noticed Skyclan wasn't there yet.

Weaselpaw trailed in after WindClan, barely able to keep himself from bouncing excitedly. He had a reputation to upkeep (at least, he thought he did), so he took purposeful and proud strides as he followed his Clan down into the clearing. He had rushed ahead a little bit, eager to see the clearing, and it took his breath away when it did. He'd heard warriors telling kits about it before--he'd been one of them--but seeing it now.. the trees towered above him, and even though he didn't like their closeness, there was a friendliness about their full boughs. Stars glittered overhead, but the moon made them look dull in comparison. The thin tom looked around quickly, then slowed his pace when he couldn't find Mossfoot. He found her easily, bringing up the rear, and he trotted alongside near shoulder-to-shoulder with her. "Are you excited for tonight?"

Ambernose had followed behind Shadowclan. She flicked her her black tail as she looked around with her Amber gaze. She glanced to her daughter Echopaw's direction before she flicked her tail. Tawnypaw her other daughter would be coming soon and staying with her clan again. 

Heatherpaw padded After Windclan quietly. She was still slightly upset that her mother was treating her the way she was but she couldn't do anything about it.

Tawnypaw slipped away from Twolegplace long enough before the gathering would have started. She padded into the clearing quietly and approached her mother.

Snakeblaze walked into the clearing and sat down.

Slatepaw, Sagepaw, and Weaselpaw all padded in with their clans.
